The Steam Giants is a registered charity that aims to help educate people and rescue artefacts of water history . At the Heritage Centre you will find a blast from the past starting with the 1904 steam engine driving the water pumps moving up through the years going though petrol , paraffin and diesel powered pumps then moving up in to the electrical powered pumps ending up with a set of 2004 ele
ctric submersible units . The Heritage Centre is open to the public on the First Saturday of each month and selected open days through out the year , on these open days you will find some Very informative Guided tours around the site explaining to you about the whole process of water extraction and processing . All of the exhibits will normally be rotating under compressed air , they will either be all rotating at once or they will be rotating in a set order though out the day . The opening times are 10.00- 16.00 on the First Saturday of each month
The Heritage Centre is FREE to enter but donations are well come
