Had me a little break this week.
Well, I say a break, but I am more tired this Friday than I was last!
I popped over to Aberystwyth for a few days away, which was lovely. The Air BnB was fantastic, very quiet and peaceful, with a very friendly four-legged co-host as a bonus!
However, this break was not as restful as some - with a hike up to briefly watch the planes on the Mach Loop on the first day (we saw a C130 fly past only a few hundred feet away 😎) and a decent seaside fish and chips spread in Aberystwyth, a hike around the local villages and beaches and a sea dip on day two along the Ceredigion Coastal path, and then an epic day on Snowdon on day three. I say epic, as despite the weather being rather limiting in terms of visibility, we still attempted the descent along Crib Goch. This took me right to the edge of my comfort zone, and because the weather was not on our side, we had to turn back before Bwlch Coch as we simply could not make out the path in front of us.
Still, the cloud was swirling around us at the summit, giving us special views above the cloud deck.
I am grateful this week for the time, opportunity and strength to be able to be as active as I am. I am grateful for trying new things (I would never have thought to have gone plane spotting on the Mach loop), and for the wisdom and humility to know when turn back. I am grateful for the company, and friendship I have in my life, and for the beauty of the countryside I live in and near.
How about you all, any glimmers in your week?
