Hope you enjoyed the initial glimpses of 2026’s students conducting 28 musicians from the Budapest Film Orchestra on the fourth day of the course.

After all that intense work students and CFF team members trouped off to the nearby Nepalese restaurant, Annapurna, to relax over a tasty meal and drinks. One of the cocktails even gave us a bit of a show!

So we’ll have to keep you in suspense for a few days more about the famous film music cue our students conducted on the final day of 2026.

Our Maestro wants to review the phone footage recorded for social media and, unfortunately, he’s swamped with sessions* and other projects until later this week.

In the meanwhile, we hope these still images give you a flavour for the day!
* On the plus side, two of our conducting masterclass students were able to attend one of the sessions he conducted for a client yesterday, an experience we’ll also share later this month.

Daryl and two employees from his Maestro Music UK music production services company having dinner last night in Budapest before the course starts.

His team is here to support the course, particularly the capturing of video footage of each student's participation so they have a tailored reminder of what they learned on when they go back home.

The Maestro's already in Budapest working, and the scores for the 3 days conducting two pianos are ready for the start of Conducting for Film's 2026 sold-out course!

This time next week, 5 students will be getting virtually 1-on-1 tuition from, our very own Daryl Griffith, one of the world’s top session conductors who’s worked on projects for Disney, Netflix and Warner Bros – just to cite a few examples!

They’ll be working up to conducting 28 orchestral musicians from the renowned Budapest Film Orchestra who have performed pieces for legends like Alan Menken, studios including Lucasfilms and Netflix, pop stars such as Christina Aguilera and games like Elden Ring and Call of Duty Mobile.

And TOMORROW the conducting students will receive the film music score containing the new arrangement by Daryl of an iconic cue that they’ll be conducting with the BFO.

🎼 Ideally, to mimic a true session environment, Daryl would’ve made them sight read the scores on the conducting masterclass itself.

🎼 However, he thought that would probably be a step too far for students at this stage of their conducting journey.

🎼 They’ve thus been given the instructions to look the scores over a little bit, but not to prepare as if it were a concert – otherwise it defeats the object of this conducting workshop.

🎼 The A4 scores for the practice pianists and 28 Budapest Film Orchestra musicians have been printed and bound, as have the A3 full scores for the students on next month’s SOLD OUT course where attendees will:

✅ Receive virtually 1-2-1 tuition from one of the Europe’s top session conductors whose credit list includes The Magic Faraway Tree, Call of Duty Mobile, Amazon Rings of Power and Mulan.

✅ Get insights from a seasoned composer, arranger and orchestrator who’s worked on a variety of film projects including Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Wonka and The Acolyte.
