There has been a lot said this week about Cradoc’s falling numbers, what hasn’t always been shown is the full context.

The data tells a more complex story.

Since 2020:
•⁠ ⁠Cradoc has declined by 87.5%
•⁠ ⁠Powys birth rates declined by ~10%
•⁠ ⁠Other Brecon schools did not experience comparable collapse

The sharpest decline followed merger and structural changes, alongside a period of formal complaint escalation and independent review.

The figures deserve careful scrutiny.

🗣 We’re planning a public meeting — but we need you to help decide where and how it should happen.

💡 Got suggestions for a venue that’s easy to access, has parking (a bar would be a bonus)? Free would be brilliant. Welcoming, inclusive, and open to all is a must.

We’re thinking The Theatre, The Castle, Pwllgloyw Arms… but we’d love to hear your ideas before settling on anything.
