We are extremely proud of our incredible learners👏🏼

Learners from Ysgol Penmaes in Brecon stepped into the shoes of councillors during a special visit to Powys County Council.

They explored the Council Chamber, used the electronic congress system, and even saw themselves on the big screens – just like a real council meeting!

The pupils quizzed senior leaders, including:
✅ Cllr Williams Powell – Chair of Council
✅ Cllr James Gibson-Watt – Cabinet Member for a Learning Powys
✅ Dr Richard Jones – Director of Education
✅ Judith Hickey – Head of ALN, Inclusion & Wellbeing

This visit gave the school’s pupil leadership team a chance to learn how decisions about education are made and share their own ideas.

👏 “Their enthusiasm and thoughtful questions show how much they care about their education and community,” said Cllr Gibson-Watt.

We loved welcoming these amazing young people and hearing their voices!

Join us every Friday, 10:00 – 11:30 at Ysgol Penmaes for our EYALN Parent/Carer & Toddler Group.
This is a friendly space for parents and carers of children with emerging needs and ALN to:
Connect and share experiences
Support each other
Give children the chance to play and interact
EYALN staff will be on hand to offer guidance and support.

🪂 Jumping to raise money for our school 🪂

Two brave staff members are taking to the skies for a charity sky dive to help us raise money to update our sensory room!

Our sensory room provides a calming and supportive space that helps our pupils regulate, explore and learn.
But…
It just needs a little updating and some new equipment!
