Dyslexia Thrive Tuition and diagnostic assessments for children
with specific learning differences such as dyslexia.

Over the past thirty years, I have worked as a class teacher, SEN teacher, Early Years Lead, Family Support Worker and Special Needs Coordinator (SENDCo). I am passionate about teaching and empowering young people with a range of learning strengths and challenges, but I am particularly interested in specific learning differences such as dyslexia and the opportunities presented by this in modern so

ciety. As a dyslexic thinker who has raised three sons, two of whom are dyslexic, I am very aware of the impact such neurodiversity can have on an individual their learning journey and well-being.

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Jenn, The Play Nanny at the weekend so I could better understand her role as a therapeutic play practitioner who works locally with children and their families.

Jenn works with children who have additional needs, children who learn in different ways to their peers. Maybe they have, or are awaiting diagnosis for Autistc Spectrum Differences, ADHD, Dyslexia or Dyspraxia. Maybe they find school intimidating or strugggle to make friends. Maybe they struggle to communicate their needs. Maybe they are experiencing emotional challenges.

Jenn comes to your home and spends time with your child doing the things they enjoy or would benefit from, playing board games, role play, cooking, reading, nature walks, riding a bus, experiencing the supermarket or a trip to the park.

To find out more about the lovely Jenn and what she can offer you and your family visit https://www.facebook.com/ThePlayNanny

A 3 minute read

Made By Dyslexia’s Intelligence 5.0 report points out, our current education system prioritises easily tested skills like rote memorisation and recall; spelling, punctuation and grammar; but these are the skills most likely to be taken over by AI. The skills which our fast-changing world needs are creativity, critical thinking and applying knowledge innovatively - all Dyslexic Thinking skills.

"One of the strengths we have as dyslexics is to look at things differently, to be a problem solver, find new ways to do things...”

Many children struggle to meet the expected standards in the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check.

For those who do struggle further challenges may lay ahead as they proceed through their academic career.

I understand the concern a parent can have if their child finds themselves in this situation.

I have a 3 step plan which can address gaps in your child's early literacy development, reducing the risk of lower than desired outcomes in their future academic career.

Every parent can feel confident that any issues with their child's early literacy development is identified and addressed bespoke to their child.

Get in touch now if you feel a discussion about your child's development, at this crucial time in their education, would be beneficial or alternatively take a look at my website to find out more https://dyslexiathrive.pages.ontraport.net/tuition
