📖📚 Last week our story of the week was ‘100 Dogs’ to link in with ‘World Dog Day’ 📚📖

We have been talking about our pets and if anyone has a dog and sharing the photos of them at group time! We have been creating our own dogs using our fine motor skills and painting using bone shaped sponges, we also made our own dog shortbread biscuits and played a dog matching game to recognise the same two pairs of dogs. 🐕🐩🦮🐕‍🦺🐾🦴

📚📖 Last week our story of the week was ‘Pass it on’ to link in with ‘World Humanitarian Day’ 📖📚

We have been creating our own hot air balloons and talking about how high they can fly they and if we have seen one before, we have also been using paint to create some handprints with our friends and have now got these on display! As well as creating our own world using a variety of materials! These activities provide great support of your little one’s fine motor skills and also in their physical development too! 🤗🌍🫟🎨🖌️

📚📖 Last week our story of the week was 'Rumble in the Jungle' to link in with 'Lion Day' and 'Elephant Day' 📖📚

We have been using paint to create some silouette pictures of different animals as well as creating some animal prints, we have enjoyed exploring a variety of textured items with the animals in including cloud dough, shaving foam and cheerios. Some of the children made their own rain shakers too! 🎨🫟🖌️

🍽️ Hot Lunches 🍽️

Some of the children this week helped to make their lunch which was Pitta Pizza’s! 😋 They began by making sure they washed their hands before handling food, they waited for their turn to spread tomato puree onto the pitta and then added some toppings after! 🍕

Here at Little Fishes the children use their fine motor skills to hold the cutlery and glasses, we also encourage them to be independent by asking the children to get their own plate and glass at lunch and snack time and to also wash up when they have finished- with some support when needed! 🤗

🐠 If you’re apart of our fishes family and your child doesn’t have a hot lunch but you’d like them to please speak to one of the team! 🐠

📚📖 The week before last our story of the week was ‘The tiger who came to tea’ to link in with ‘Tiger Day’ and ‘Friends Day’ 📖📚

We have been using our gentle hands and continued to learn our golden rules as well as encouraging sharing and taking turns with friends, we have also been making our own ‘friends’ cards to give to our friends and made our own tiger masks and had tea parties together 👩🏻‍🤝‍👩🏼👨🏼‍🤝‍👨🏻🐯🫖🍽️

Yesterday we used our fine motor skills to colour in, cut and stick the Sun, Moon and Earth for the Solar Eclipse that was happening in the evening 🤩
