Little Fishes Pre-school and Nursery - Braunton

📚📖 Last week our story of the week was 'Who's been eating my porridge?' to link in with Teddy Bears picnic day 📖📚

We have been retelling the story, playing with oats - empyting and filling them in the bowls with spoons, using our fine motor skills to design our own teddy bear outfits by cutting and sticking as well as painting teddy bear masks. We have been going out on walks to enjoy our own picnic, as well as matching bears to the correct sizing of the bowls, chair and bed from Goldilocks and the 3 bears! 🐻🥣🪑🛏️🧸

On Thursday we had our last session at the Library with Alice! The children joined in with the parachute and even made their own little bear puppets! We would like to say a big thank you to Alice for providing such fun learning opportunities for us and we wish you the best of luck for the future! 🤩

📚📖 The week before last our story of the week was 'Superworm' as it was 'Insect Week' 📖📚

We have been retelling the story, exploring the soil wth the spaghetti in it, made our own worm pictures using paint and string, and made 'mud' play-dough. We have also ejoyed playing with oobleck, using the spinner with paint to create pictures and using the lego blocks to match the superworm pictures. 🪱🐌🎨🫟

📚📖 Few weeks ago our story of the week was 'The Snail and the Whale' as it was 'Ocean Day' 📖📚

We have been learning about the ocean, exploring the different coral tuff trays, and talking about the sea animals and how rubbish left in the ocean can hurt them. We have been using our fine motor skills to make our own Jellyfish, we have used salt to make paintings of a snail or a whale as well as joining in with rescuing sea animals from the ice and matching sea animals in a counting activity. 🪼🐌🐋🧊

We have enjoyed watching a snail race happen in our garden! The children were fasinated by this! Some of the children also went to the Countryside Centre for a session with Alice where they enjoyed listening to a story, helping to pick out the litter from the sand tray and playing with sea creatures in the water! 🗑️
