Evening all, have been pretty quiet on here, but I now know what I can offer moving forward alongside my full time job with Best Practice Network. The group tutoring is working so well, and we have spaces, and we have a new group starting in 2026. Availability is below, so feel free to share with anyone you know this may support.

Evening all, updated availability on the website https://mrbstutoring.my.canva.site/availability including a Year 5 and 6 Group Sunday Session and looking at a Year 3 and 4 Maths Group for Sunday's at 4pm.
Face to face fully booked, but evening tutoring online sessions are available. Thanks for all those that share my name when queries come up, really appreciate you all.

We have some amazing writing from a Year 6 student that had school targets to improve his use of simple, compound and complex sentences in addition to using subordinating and coordinating conjunctions. He is currently working on World War 2 in school so we used “Beyond the Lines” as a stimulus - an amazing animation set during the D-Day landings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncRsHc5bgVo&t=170s

We worked on a small part of the animation, which he chose, and mapped this out using storyboards, vocabulary work, sentence starters. Once completed, we used AI to create images based on what was written to support the editing process. We also focused on quality over quantity, and really taking our time with vocabulary and word choice. Our build up and final results are below....

The times are as follows:

10am - Booked
11:15 am -
12:30 pm -

3:15 pm -
4:30 pm -

There is some flexibility with this, please just let me know what you would like.

Wow! What a 'shut the box' tournament that was for Block 2! Sadly 4 children have missed out on the semi-finals, 2 of these only by points difference.
The semi finals will be
A v B.N
E v B.M

Ties to take place over the next couple of weeks, first to 3 wins will be through to the final!

Lots of updates to the website, I have recently put some of the work from Block 2. Some of the students have created their own websites - these will be published in the next couple of weeks, but some snapshots can be found at:

High above, the terrified mountain goat, is a massive rock coming to squash him! Carefully, he jumped over to protect himself. Breathing heavily, the mountain goat sighed, but looked up to find that he was directly under the rock. For a few moments, it went quiet, then....BANG!!
