As the summer holidays come to an end we want to wish our Year 6’s lots of luck for starting secondary school. We’re so proud of all you have achieved.
We had such a great summer term filled with excellent academic achievements and lots of extracurricular fun!
Highlights were the pool on the playground, an excellent Junior show, whole school trip to Peak Wildlife, sports events, the legendary Dave Dee disco, Splash Landings, Boggle Hole residential and lots of ice creams and water fights on the field ☀️ 💦
Sports Night was our biggest and best yet! The competition was brilliant and we also had the opening of our own Brassington Shrovetide goals. Special thanks to Mrs Brown, parents and Shrovetiders who all joined our children for their first game!
Sadly, it was my last summer at Brassington as I leave to take up a Deputy Headship at an International School in Spain. After teaching at Brassington for 12 years and being Head of School for the last 5 years, leaving has been so hard. The school and the community has been such a big part of my life and I can’t thank the parents enough for their support and encouragement to help me create such a wonderful school. Having the opportunity to lead this school and work alongside such a talented and caring staff team has been the absolute highlight of my career.
Brassington kids are the best kids - their attitude to life and learning is an example to us all.
We always strive to teach them kindness and respect and to embrace life and all opportunities whilst achieving their full academic potential. At Brassington they get to do this in an environment that helps them feel safe, curious and eager to learn. I know that our village school will continue to go from strength to strength with the dedicated staff team and excellent parental body and community who all work together so well to support our children.
Brassington will always have a special place in my heart. Hasta luego amigos 🇪🇸 ❤️
