Middle Row Forge

A visit from four farriers (two masters and two apprentices) to make their own driving hammers - used to drive and cut horse shoe nails.
The guys worked their socks off and made some great hammers using only hand hammers and some basic tooling.

A fantastic day in the forge with some fantastic students 👍💪🔥

An excellent, although very hot, day in the forge

Today I was very happy to welcome back to the forge Iain and Steve for a class on making blacksmiths tongs.

We each made a pair of combination flat bits and employed a mix of power hammer and hand forging techniques.

The guys worked hard and were great company for the day, as usual.

Great for everything you can think to use a small axe for - splitting, chopping, dressing game, bushcraft, and throwing.

Hand forged from en9 medium carbon steel, fully heat treated, razor sharp and fitted with hickory handles. They come with thick leather blade covers to keep both you and the blade safe.
