Year 5 and 6 pupils enjoyed a walk up Latrigg with Lorton Primary School and Dean Primary School. Well done to all who took part for completing not just the walk (part of our personal development and enrichment offer) but also the added challenge to talk to someone from another school, building confidence ahead of their move to secondary school! In Collective Worship we have talked about aspiring to be your best and the men’s football World Cup.

To mark England’s first match on Wednesday, we are inviting children to come in wearing football kits, red, white and blue or colours to represent the country they will be supporting. The day will be a normal school day, just with an added dash of pride!

💜 Keswick Museum Event 💜

Our KS2 children joined with others from schools across the Keswick area to take part in a wonderful event at Keswick Museum on Friday.

They took part in sessions as varied as learning about how clothes were made in the Edwardian era to how to care for hedgehogs 🦔

This is one of our favourite events of the year and we’re forever proud of how polite and inclusive our children are but it’s always lovely when members of the public acknowledge it too! 💛

Minecraft continues to be a highly popular platform for children, combining creativity, problem-solving and social interaction.

While the game can offer positive opportunities for learning and play, features such as public servers, multiplayer modes and in-game communication can create safeguarding challenges.

Our latest guide supports educators and parents in understanding these risks and helping children play more safely.

The guide explores:
• Public server communication and contact with unknown players
• Griefing, disruptive behaviour and online conflict
• In-game spending and subscription costs
• Addictive gameplay loops and balanced screen time
• Safer settings, private servers and suitable game modes

With clear, practical advice, the guide helps adults set boundaries, encourage safer choices and support responsible Minecraft use.

💚 Did you know our whole school spends every Friday afternoon outdoors at Braithwaite?

We’re committed to developing our curriculum to include opportunities to take our learning outside as well as our weekly Forest School sessions.

Coming soon…. a chance for our parents/ carers to take on the role of their child and explore what a Forest School and Alfresco Learning session is really like 💛

Our wonderful KS2 children showed grit and determination yesterday as they took part in the Duathlon event at Keswick Mountain Festival.

As always, their behaviour was impeccable and they encouraged and cheered each other on throughout the event, striving to be the best that they can be 💜💛

Online grooming is a serious and growing threat, with offenders using a range of tactics to build trust with children and young people before exploiting that relationship.

This can happen across social media, gaming platforms, messaging apps and group chats, often through fake identities, flattery, gifts or pressure.

Our latest guide highlights key risks, including:
• Strangers using fake identities
• Exploitation through gifts and flattery
• Group chats creating hidden pathways
• Gaming platforms becoming grooming gateways
• Sextortion, criminal grooming and radicalisation

The guide also offers practical advice for parents and educators on recognising warning signs, understanding the platforms children use and creating open, regular conversations.

⭐ To our Year 6 Superstars ⭐

Please, please spend the weekend having fun, being a kid, riding bikes, out in the fresh air or curled up watching a movie! Please do NOT spend it thinking about or practising for tests!

You are all amazing and will continue to be amazing regardless of how things go on these tests... this is 4 days of your whole time in Primary School, these are not who you are and will not change who you are or what you are capable of doing!

See you on Monday, ready to be your usual awesome selves! 💛💜
