Christchurch Pre-School Nursery Christchurch Pre-School Nursery provides a happy, caring environment for all children to play, learn and ultimately prepare for their start at ‘big school'

Christchurch Pre-School was opened in the 1960s and has a long tradition of providing excellent preparation for children and “big school”. We have one large hall that is partitioned into two play areas and also have an additional smaller room which enables more one-to-one attention for the older children when getting ready for big school. We also have a secure enclosed outdoor play area which is used regularly when the weather allows! A maximum of 35 children attend the school at any one time and are in the care of an excellent team of staff many who have been at the school for many years.

Looking for some more small businesses to come and join us for our lovely Christmas fayre. We already have some stalls booked in, for sweets, cakes & crochet so won’t be duplicating to keep it fair, but would love different stalls like candles or melts, cards, art, Avon, jams or chutneys, cheeses etc.
Tables are just £15 and all money raised helps us improve our outside area for our children 😍

🌈☀️ Welcome to week 3!

🌈☀️Please remember to label everything your child has with their name! Their bags, drinks bottles, lunch boxes, clothes, coats, jumpers…. Everything!! 🌈☀️

🌈 Rainbow Room - This week we will be exploring all about the ❄️🌈☔️⛅️weather. We will be making ☔️rain & 🌨️snow in the tuff trays & we will be looking out of the 🪟window every session to see what it’s doing outside. We will be making paper plate ☀️💧weather 🕰️clocks, where the children will spin the ➡️arrow to show what it’s doing outside. Perhaps you could have a go at doing this at home too and pop a 📸picture of your child using their weather clock on Tapestry! 🌈

☀️Sunshine Room - This week we will be learning all about the ⛅️🌈❄️☀️weather too. We will enjoy some 💧water play, tipping, pouring, floating, sinking, splashing - how can we make it ☔️rain? We will be designing our own 👢wellies, ordering numbered 💧raindrops, matching ❄️🌨️snow to numbered ☁️clouds & doing lots of work on 🌈rainbows. We will paint them with our 👐🏻fingers, colour them & paint them. We will be 🔢counting weather, playing ☔️☁️☀️❄️weather bingo & ordering 🌈rainbows by size, using size language. We will make some yummy 🌈rainbow 🍓🍌🍊🫛🫐fruit skewers for snack & have a go at ✂️scissor skills by cutting out some weather pictures. ☀️

🌈☀️ Welcome to week 2!

❤️ So so proud of all the children who started with us last week or returned after the summer to their new rooms. There were tears but lots of cuddles & reassurance & soon everyone of them were having fun & starting to learn about their new rooms ❤️

🌈☀️Please remember to label everything your child has with their name! Their bags, drinks bottles, lunch boxes, clothes, coats, jumpers…. Everything!! 🌈☀️

🌈 Rainbow Room - This week we will be continuing to settle in. We will be getting to know the children, playing with them, chatting to them & will have lots of cuddles ready. We will be making paper plate shape faces & using loose parts on paper to decorate body shapes 🌈

☀️Sunshine Room - This week we will be getting to know each other too! We will be playing games, doing puzzles, chatting, playing, colouring, looking at colours, numbers & shapes. We will be starting to learn the new routine & enjoy time both upstairs & downstairs. We will be free painting using a variety of tools & utensils, making marks in sand, making faces with different expressions & making paper plate faces with different media & materials. With our aunties we will be talking about things we like & dislike, finding letters to make our names & painting self portraits☀️

💧What a year! What a lovely year! We have managed to achieve so much, it’s hard to believe that we are now at the end of the summer term.

🌈 Lots of thank you’s…. To our families. Thank you for being a part of our Nursery family, it has been such a pleasure. Watching your little ones grow from teeny tiny two year olds to grown up, confident four year olds is just a joy.
…For the gifts, cards, kind words & hugs… your kindness is so appreciated.
…To our children. Thank you for the fun times & the memories. You might not remember us in years to come but we will remember you! We are very proud of the journey you have all made.
…To the Aunties. We are blessed to have Aunties that care, that work so hard & go the extra mile. We are very lucky to have such a smashing team.

☀️So goodbye to our little 💧Raindroppers.. you’ve done so well to settle in so brilliantly this year & we cannot wait to see you in Rainbow Room in September!
