One of our PhD students is conducting a survey about the use of PGx in medicines optimisation:

·Are you a hospital pharmacist or pharmacy technician working at an NHS Trust in England?

·Then at some point you may have handled a pharmacogenomics (PGx) medication

·PGx looks at how genetic mutation impacts clinical response to medication. Not all drugs are affected by genetic mutation. Those which are affected are called PGx drugs

·If you are not sure, some PGx drugs are: mercaptopurine, capecitabine, mavacamten, gentamicin, abacavir, clopidogrel

·I invite you to take part in a short survey to share:
o Your experience with PGx education and training
o Your opinions on current PGx education and training about what went well and what could be improved

·Your participation will inform the development of PGx education and training.

It's our graduation week and students from the School were split over several ceremonies yesterday. Congratulations to all those who graduated and their families - the weather was slightly cooler but not by much! It's also a big week for the university because we have a new Vice Chancellor. The outgoing Vice-Chancellor is presiding at graduations, which is a nice way to bow out. Good luck to all graduates (and the VC) moving on to new pastures.

Our colleague Alison Hemsworth is seeking questionnaire responses from people working in community pharmacy settings. The survey is about public health services.

The Public Health Roles of the Community Pharmacy Workforce Community pharmacy practice research is generally only about the role of the pharmacist. In this research we want to hear the voices of everyone in the community pharmacy team who has a role in delivering public health services no matter how small that role might be.
