This is based on the Kempo style, with a number of useful freestyle additions. Our philosophy is to 'use what works' and not just learn a 'style'. Ju-Jitsu utilises the use of locks, blocks, strikes and throws against a violent attacker. Our teaching methods will help to defend against both armed (for example a knife, cosh or bottle) and unarmed attackers. We supplement our style with elements from other martial arts such as Tae Kwon Do, Kobudo, Muay Thai and Wing Chun. Our teacher and teaching methods can help pupils build confidence, fitness and life skills to students of all ages, including young children. We aim to provide students with a happy and fun environment. A typical lesson comprises of some warm-up exercises (maybe a game for the kids!), practising break falls, learning new techniques for your belt, practising locks, strikes, kicks, finishes, defence against weapons, using weapons, maybe some ground work and throws. Our instructor is CRB/DBS checked, in order to teach young children.
