Year 4 have been working hard in maths 🧮

This week we have been looking at rounding 🔢 It has been something we have found a little bit tricky but that is okay - we have persevered and have now mastered it!

We finished off our learning today with a rounding game and we had lots of fun 🤩

What a super morning for Reception. We invited parents into class to join us for our phonics lesson, learning today's sound /c/. The children were amazing! Then everyone headed to the hall for the first 'Come Dine With Me' of the year. A massive thank you to all the families who supported our children. We look forward to seeing you all again for the 'Stay, Play and Learn' sessions next week.

🍂🙏 Harvest generosity in action! 🙏🍂

Today we were delighted to welcome Franco and Noah from Bradford North Foodbank, who came to collect all the wonderful donations from our Harvest Festival.

We were especially proud to hear that St Francis is the first school to donate its Harvest collection this year! 💛 They were incredibly grateful for the generosity of our families and school community.

As a Catholic school, Harvest reminds us that everything we have is a gift from God and that we are called to share what we have with others, especially those most in need. Through your kindness, our children are seeing our faith lived out in action. ✝️

A huge thank you to everyone who donated. Together, we are helping to make a real difference in our local community. 🥫🍎💛

🍂 Harvest Festival 🍎🌾

What a beautiful celebration of Harvest we shared together. We gave thanks to God for all the gifts and blessings we receive each day and reflected on our call as Catholics to share what we have with those in need. 🙏

We are especially proud of our Pupil Chaplains, who helped to prepare our worship space and confidently led our prayers and readings so reverently. ✝️

A huge thank you to all our families for your incredibly generous donations for Bradford North Foodbank. Your kindness will make a real difference to people in our local community and is a wonderful example of putting our faith into action. ❤️

WOW WOW WOW 🌋😍✍️✏️

What brilliant writing year 4 have been doing !

We wrote our assessed piece of writing based on the book ‘Escape from Pompeii’ and we are so impressed with the quality of writing produced.

They were focused and managed to keep their handwriting nice and neat - this is something we have been working really hard on !

Miss Hudson can’t wait to read them 🫶

Year 4 are going mad for science 🧬 🤍✨

Y4 have been working so hard the past couple of weeks in science!

Last week we undertook an experiment exploring the digestive system and how it all works - who knew we could have so much fun with tights, orange juice and crackers 😀

Today we were looking at our teeth and how they help us to chew our food ! We enjoyed looking at our own teeth and asked some brilliant questions 🦷🪥😬

Thank you for working so hard year 4 ! Onto another brilliant week ❤️

🤍National teaching assistants day🤍

Today was a very special day … we got to celebrate all of our wonderful teaching assistants we have at St Francis 🥰

Each one of them received a special merit and next Friday the teachers are providing them with a shared lunch and all lunchtime duties covered. Mini Vinnies also made them a lovely card !!!

We are so grateful for everything they do for our children and teachers every day!

Thank you to you all ❤️❤️❤️
