Having experience is great and at Keighley Dementia Advice Community Group our team has both lived and professional experience, however continual learning and development allows us to meet the ongoing needs of the people we support affected by Dementia. 💜 Taking Time to Learn, So We Can Continue to Support 💜

Before yesterday’s weekly drop-in session got underway, the Keighley Dementia Advice team spent some time together focusing on our own learning and development.

Supporting people affected by dementia is a privilege, and one we never take for granted. Every person who walks through our door has their own experiences, challenges, and questions, and we want to make sure we’re always providing the best support, advice, and understanding that we can.

That’s why we regularly set aside time for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). It gives us the opportunity to reflect on our work, share knowledge, learn about new developments, and ensure we’re growing alongside the service and the people who use it.

While experience is invaluable, we believe there is always something new to learn. By keeping ourselves informed and continuing to develop our skills, we can better support individuals and families navigating their dementia journey.

Yesterday was a lovely reminder that learning isn’t just about gaining knowledge—it’s about strengthening our ability to listen, understand, and make a difference.

Thank you to everyone who continues to trust us, support us, and be part of our Keighley Dementia Advice community. We are proud to be learning and growing with you. 💜
