I am contacting you this Morning to see if you might be interesting in offering some British Sign Language lessons, either for your staff, for people to access through your training resources.

My name is Aftab Hussain. I am profoundly Deaf, and I am a British Sign Language teacher. I teach basic BSL to hearing people of all ages, covering topics like emotions, colours, animals, food and drink, and many more.
I currently work with a variety of organisations, such as the West Yorkshire police and HAF, as well as a wide variety of schools, universities and community centres. I am based in Bradford, but teach all over the UK.
The courses are fun as well as educational, and we aim to help people break down communication barriers! This training would help your staff and members confidently and effectively communicate with deaf patients.

I will also let you know that I am able to offer a 1 hour BSL class completely free of charge. That means people can experience my teaching first hand, and then we can have a conversation about booking in further sessions in the future.

If anyone working in a school/college/university would like to offer their students the opportunity to learn British Sign Language please get in touch; I can tailor BSL classes to meet the needs of any age group.

Calling all / any social workers! if you are working with a family where there is a Deaf family member who use sign language and you wish to assist in facilitating communication within their home please get in touch, I can offer tuition in British Sign Language for one or more people to allow families to communicate better and break down barriers.
