Your community. Your voice. Your local academy. 💙
We’re looking for Community Council Members to join our Academy Community Councils.
Academy Community Councils are the local committees that help our academies provide the best opportunities for children and young people.
You don’t need to work in education or have governance experience.
We’re looking for people who care about their community, want young people to succeed and are happy to bring their own perspective to the table.
Training and support are provided.
💬 Want to know more before deciding? Book an informal 1-2-1 chat with our Governance Team. www.coopacademies.co.uk/governance

From March to July, our KS5 students proudly took part in the first RHS Pilot Project, which focused on promoting wellbeing through horticulture while developing students' knowledge and practical gardening skills.
Research has shown that spending time with plants and engaging in horticulture can have a positive impact on mental health and wellbeing by reducing stress, improving mood and creating a calmer learning environment. With this in mind, students worked together to help bring more greenery into the Sixth Form.
The project began with students exploring the local community to identify a variety of plants, trees, bulbs and other species. They then developed valuable life skills by managing budgets and planning a visit to Tong Garden Centre, where they selected and purchased seeds and plants for every classroom in the Sixth Form building.
Throughout the project, students learned how to grow and care for plants while creating welcoming classroom spaces that can support both learning and wellbeing. They also strengthened their teamwork, communication and decision making skills through every stage of the project.
The project was a great success, and we are delighted that the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has invited us to take part again. We were pleased to accept the invitation and look forward to continuing this exciting partnership and further promoting wellbeing through horticulture across our school.

🏅 What an incredible day! Today we hosted our annual MATP challenge event here at Co-op Academy Southfield! 🏅
The MATP is a special programme designed for athletes with PMLD. Every single one of our amazing students did an outstanding job showing off the individual skills they have been practicing so hard for this big day. We are so incredibly proud of them! 🌟
It was wonderful to show our Co-op values of working together and succeeding together. We were absolutely thrilled to welcome our fantastic friends from Co-op Academy Delius, Phoenix, and Fairfields, as well as so many of our lovely families who came to cheer everyone on. 📣❤️
Our athletes kicked things off with a fun 'come and try' warm-up, followed by a lovely welcome parade. Then it was time for the challenges themselves, before wrapping up the day with our amazing awards ceremony to celebrate everyone's achievements. 🏆✨
A huge thank you to all the staff, visiting schools, and wonderful families who helped us show you care and made this day so special.

On Friday 19th June, Southfield’s KS3 Choir went on a coach to Manchester to watch the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra at Media City.
We got to have some time outside in the sunshine with students from other schools before the show started.
We then went inside and listened to the Orchestra and learnt all about how the pieces were put together and what all the instruments were called and what they sounded like.
The students were amazing and a credit to Southfield - We even had a go at conducting the whole orchestra!

A fantastic, busy day at Jamie’s Farm! 🚜🌱
Today was all about teamwork and trying new things. Everyone got stuck into a different job—whether it was feeding the sheep, taking care of the chickens, chopping wood, or helping to cook dinner.
The group had the absolute best time getting their hands dirty and experiencing farm life. Huge smiles all round! 🥰🐑

⚽️🏴 Calvert Trust 2026! 🏴⚽️
The lads were up until midnight watching England’s final game before the World Cup! No way we were missing that kickoff.
The lack of sleep is definitely catching up to us today, but it was worth every second to support the boys. The countdown is officially ON! 🏆🦁
COME ON ENGLAND! 🏴🔥
