The “Student Safe Spot” scheme is a great initiative that was set up in 2009 by City Centre Beat (a partnership which aims to reduce crime in Bradford) in conjunction with the University of Bradford, University of Bradford Students' Union, Bradford College, Bradford College Students’ Union, West Yorkshire Police and the City Council. Its main goal is to enhance students’ safety on and off campus,
by collaborating with a network of businesses and premises around the city of Bradford. If you feel threatened, harassed, or unsafe in any way, you can go to one of the pubs, clubs, shops or other businesses designated as a Student Safe Spot. Such businesses and premises can be identified with the yellow sticker displayed on their window, depicting the Student Safe Spot yellow logo.
