We were delighted to welcome Reception children from Christ the King Catholic Primary School, Leeds, to St Bede's and St Joseph's Catholic College as part of their trip to Cartwright Hall.
To finish their day, the children joined us in the Upper Prayer Room for a Celebration of the Word, led by our KS3 student leaders. Our students did a fantastic job proclaiming the Gospel, leading the prayers, and teaching the Reception children the Alleluia dance, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
The children were fascinated by the Upper Prayer Room, especially the beautiful stained glass window, and their excitement and enthusiasm were wonderful to see. It was equally heartening to see how much our student leaders enjoyed welcoming the younger pupils and helping them to pray together.
This was a lovely opportunity to strengthen the links between our Catholic schools, with our students showing confidence, leadership, and joyful witness to their faith. Well done to everyone involved.

Another wonderful opportunity to strengthen our parish links, this time with a visit to St John the Evangelist Church.
Eleven students attended Mass celebrated by Fr Sunny, where they confidently proclaimed the readings and led the bidding prayers with reverence and respect.
Following Mass, students stayed to support the Catholic Care Older Persons' Lunch, serving food and drinks to guests. They were a credit to the College, carrying out every task with kindness, courtesy, and enthusiasm. Their willingness to give their time in service to others is a wonderful example of living out our faith through action.
As a well-earned reward, students enjoyed a delicious sponge pudding and custard after lunch!
We were also fortunate to hear a presentation from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, who spoke about the life-saving work they do across the region and the importance of community fundraising.
Well done to all of our students for representing St Bede's and St Joseph's Catholic College with such maturity, compassion, and service. You made us all proud.
