Baby Loss Awareness Week | 9th-15th October
Next week you might notice a little change to our Ashfield logo as we proudly turn pink and blue in support of Baby Loss Awareness Week. 💗💙
This is something that will always be incredibly close to our hearts here at Ashfield.
As many of our families know, in 2022 our beautiful boy Louie was born sleeping at 25 weeks. During the hardest time of our lives, our Ashfield families wrapped around us with so much love and support, and together with our family and friends we raised over £15,000 in Louie’s memory for the Maternity Bereavement Suites at Bradford Royal Infirmary.
We were later invited back to the BRI last year as a family for the official reopening of the Snowdrop Suite, which had been transformed into a much more homely and comforting space for families experiencing the unimaginable heartbreak of losing their baby.
Knowing that something positive has come from something so heartbreaking, and that Louie’s little legacy is helping other families when they need it most, will always mean the absolute world to us.
Supporting families affected by baby loss has remained really important to us. In April 2024, Laura, Matthew, Jamie & Beth took on the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Tommy’s - just weeks after finding out we were expecting our rainbow baby, George. Then in Spring 2025, Matthew, Rosemary and Sophie took on the challenge again, once again raising money for Tommy’s.
Baby loss can still be such a difficult thing to talk about, but our babies deserve to be spoken about, remembered and included. And no family going through it should ever feel like they have to do it alone.
So throughout this week in October, our Ashfield logo will be proudly supporting pink and blue for Louie, for all the babies who couldn’t stay, and for all the families who carry them with them every single day. 💗💙
