FOOTBALL 💫

This evening Low Ash Primary’s under 11s Girls went up against a strong Blakehill primary team.

We had lots of girls playing their first ever competitive football match. These girls show lots of grit, determination and the most important thing, having lots of fun.

Well done girls!

Well done to the Y5 children who took part in their Bikeability sessions today and yesterday. A number of children started to ride a bike for the very first time. Other children developed their skills and are ready for the Level 2 road sessions which we are aiming to take place in Year 6.

Y6 were extremely lucky to welcome Mr McKniff into class this afternoon, who shared with us his great, great uncle's diaries from WW2. For example, he was able to read the diary entry for September 1st 1939, the day which Germany invaded Poland. This was so engaging for the children, as it really brought the topic to life.

This week, Year 6 pupils took part in Bikeability and have made fantastic progress. Some children achieved the really important milestone of riding a bike independently for the very first time, while others successfully progressed to Level 2, learning how to ride safely and confidently on the road. We are immensely proud of every child for their perseverance, determination and growing confidence as they developed this important life skill. Well done, Year 6!

Year 1 have loved getting busy in their construction area, using their imagination to design, build and construct some fantastic creations. And now, they can really look the part while they do it! A huge thank you to STM360 for incredibly kind donation of hi-vis jackets and construction helmets for our children to use. They have brought so much excitement to the area and are helping to make the learning feel more authentic.

We are so grateful for your support. Judging by the enthusiasm we have seen so far, there may well be a few future builders, engineers and designers in the making! Thank you STM360!

Earlier this week, 4B visited the Rodley Nature Reserve and took part in a number of activities including:
-catching juvenile dragonflies in the pond
-seeing harvest mice in the visitor centre
-building bug hotels
-learning about bees

The volunteers were also keen to tell us that 4B was one of the best behaved and most curious/enthusiastic groups they've had at Rodley, which was always lovely to hear.
