Westfield Nursery is a purpose built nursery positioned in it's own grounds in the middle of a private residential area on Idle moor. The nursery opened it's doors for the first time in October 1997 and we are very proud of it's excellent reputation over the past 23 years and are extremely keen to uphold this for the future. We (Emma and Rebecca) are joint managers and are very much "hands on" within the nursery. Westfield Nursery is our only nursery - We are not a chain. The nursery is registered to care for 82 children in 5 individual play rooms with a separate purpose built building for the pre-school children. It boasts extensive and private outdoor areas which enhance all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Westfield Nursery employs 22 staff, all of which hold a level 3 childcare qualification. Two of our practitioners, Jade Axon and Emma Clapham have achieved their Early Years Foundation Degree - these 2 practitioners are also our nursery designated safeguarding officers. Many of our practitioners have worked for us for over 10 years. 8 practitioners have worked at the nursery for more than 15 years. Westfield nursery employs 3 deputy managers, one of which is completely supernumery alongside ourselves. Tracey Brodie is the Lead Language practitioner, nursery SENCO and behaviour co-ordinator. Jo Roberts has been one of our deputy managers for 15years. She has recently taken on the new role of nursery cook. She takes great pride in preparing highly nutritious, healthy and well balanced meals fresh every day on the nursery premises. Westfield Nursery welcomes all children and takes great care to treat each individual as a person in their own right. We are committed to the integration of all children and recognise that each child has the right to be educated and develop to their full potential alongside each other. We provide a variety of toys, activities and provision both indoors and outdoors to promote and stimulate all areas of The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. We strive to ensure that each child will make all round progress and develop at their own individual pace, incorporating precise planning and the children's interests. Westfield Nursery promotes independence, speech, co-operation with others, good manners and table etiquette, but above all a feeling of fun and security in an environment in which parents will have a relaxed confidence in their child's well-being.
