Our little Pippins have been outdoors having an adventure and lots of fun in our forest school area at the nursery.

They have been exploring the flowers, trees and earth, whilst climbing different levels, balancing and feeling different outside textures.

They even saw some ants, ladybirds, birds and a cat - lots of opportunities to say different words.

Our little Pippins love being creative!

Being creative and making marks is so much fun!

Children get to express themselves, learn colours and strengthen their finger muscles ready for writing, it also helps children language as they begin to give meanings to the marks they make.

BHT will be working in collaboration with AiSight Creative

Together, we’re creating a series of videos to enhance our language development offer for children and families and promote our work in schools.

Last week our little Pippins had fun filling and emptying!

The shopping trolley in the photo is used for many things during the nursery session, but on this occasion it is being used for filling up with toys and emptying then out again.

Filling and emptying allows children to coordinate their hand movements with visual input and allows children to begin to understand the physical properties, as well as shape, space and measure.

We are so excited to be one of the charities working in partnership with Paradox Orchestra to enable delivery of their Inspire Days.

The Paradox Saxophone Quartet will be performing at Halifax Minster between 2-3pm on Saturday 29 June as part of the Minster's Summer Festival.

Our little Pippins love getting messy and we would always recommend that they come to nursery in clothes that are older and parents/carers are happy to get play stains on such as paint, mud, pen marks, grass etc

👧It may be a muddy mark, but it's also your child developing their imagination in our mud kitchen.
👦It may be a grass stain, but it's also your child playing outdoors to develop their physical skills.
👧It may be a paint stain, but it's also your child developing their creativity and fine motor skills.
