We are extremely proud of our Year six children who spent yesterday afternoon training to be dementia ambassadors. They will now get to work making connections with residents of Rose Cottage as partner our intergenerational linking project 💚

Science day in Camels was spent exploring classification keys. We started with liquorice all sorts before moving on to look at how classification keys work for living things. Thank you to all adults who came to help us investigate 😊

Hyenas had a lovely, calm last part of our afternoon listening to our class story in the sunshine! Well done to all in year 6 for trying their hardest so in their mock SATS this week!

At Thornton Primary school we are always curious about science and asking scientific questions. Thank you to all our parents who came to celebrate Science week with us. Wallabies had a great afternoon learning about forces and testing what’s the best design for a paper aeroplane

This half term year one are learning about animals including humans. We had a lovely science afternoon with parents and carers visiting our classroom. 🦁 🦅 🐸

We were extremely lucky yesterday to have a visit from the author, Mario Ambrosi. His book, Scarlett Buckling and the case of the missing pictures, is a detective adventure exploring dementia and family bonds. Camels class have been reading his book as part of our intergenerational linking project and were so excited to have the opportunity to ask questions and chat with with Mario. He brought some residents from a local care home who told stories to the children.
