Humza Yousaf, former First Minister of Scotland is returning to Bradford with his memoir, 'Under Fire: My Family’s Escape from Gaza and The Cost of Leadership’.

Under Fire tells the story of Yousaf's month-long nightmare as he tried desperately to get his in-laws out of Gaza and back home to Dundee.

With the British government ignoring his pleas for help, he had to coordinate with other countries to get his family across the Rafah border into Egypt.

Yousaf also had to lead the whole of Scotland - as well as reassure the nation's traumatised Jewish community, all while responding to online attacks.

The University of Bradford Students’ Union is looking for an external trustee to join its Trustee Board. This is an opportunity to make a real difference to a charity that represents thousands of students and is going through a period of significant change.

The Students’ Union is an independent charity established under the 1994 Education Act. We exist to advance the education and welfare of students at the University of Bradford. We provide representation, run student activities, and support student communities across one of the most diverse universities in the country.

You are invited to join us to welcome our new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gillian Murray, and hear her vision for the future.

For six decades, the University has been committed to providing excellent education for people from all backgrounds, to supporting students throughout their journey and to delivering outstanding research that impacts people locally and globally.

As the University enters a new era, Professor Gillian Murray will outline how she plans to build on that proud tradition with her vision to create opportunity: for students, for businesses, for researchers, and for the Bradford district.

If you graduated between 1 May and 31 July 2025, you may be invited to complete the Graduate Outcomes Survey.

Please keep an eye out for an email we have sent you from the Careers and Employability Services this week. This includes information about the survey and details of when you can expect to be contacted by HESA.

If you are contacted to complete the survey, it will only take a few minutes. Your response will help provide valuable insight into the experiences and outcomes of recent graduates.

Child's Play: Discovery Playground

In collaboration with Play Bradford and Bradford Council’s Holiday Activity and Food programme ( ), we’re bringing our discovery playground to Peel Park.

Join us for a FREE family fun day you won’t want to miss, including live entertainment, fun movement challenges and exciting hands-on experiments that might just get a little messy!

This is an in-person event.
