🌟 Learner Success Story: Kasturi Bose 🌟

After moving to the UK in 2017 and spending several years raising her daughter, Kasturi decided it was time to focus on her own future.

Through the Skills for Work Teaching Assistant Level 2 Award, Kasturi built her confidence, gained valuable knowledge of the UK education system, secured a volunteer placement in a local school, and achieved her Functional Skills Level 2 Maths qualification.

We're delighted to share that Kasturi has now secured a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship and will begin her new role in September! πŸŽ‰

πŸ’¬ "Skills for Work gave me confidence, knowledge and a teacher like Lorraine who inspired and assisted every step in my journey to TA Level 3."

Congratulations, Kasturi – your hard work and determination have truly paid off! πŸ‘βœ¨

🌟 Celebrating Success, Community and Confidence! 🌟

What a fantastic way to round off the academic year at Skills for Work! πŸŽ‰

Our ESOL learners at St Clare’s Catholic Primary School came together for a special end-of-year celebration, sharing food, conversations and laughter while reflecting on just how far they have come on their learning journey. πŸ’¬βœ¨

The celebration provided a welcoming and supportive space for learners to practise their English, build confidence and celebrate their achievements with friends and classmates. 🌍🀝

The learning didn’t stop there! The group then enjoyed a walk to Bradford Moor Park, taking part in light exercise activities linked to their Health and Wellbeing topic. Learners used English in a real-life setting to follow instructions, discuss the benefits of exercise and share ideas about healthy living. πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸŒ³πŸ’š

These community and cultural experiences are so important in helping learners develop not only their language skills, but also their confidence, teamwork and sense of belonging within their local community.

A huge well done to all our learners for their hard work, determination and progress throughout the year, and thank you to our dedicated tutors who continue to inspire and support every step of the journey. πŸ‘πŸŒŸ

Here's to new opportunities, continued learning and even greater achievements ahead! πŸš€

Today, learners from our Skills for Work ESOL class enjoyed an exciting cultural visit to the Science + Media Museum with their tutor.

The group took part in a guided tour, exploring the fascinating world of media technology and learning how sound and vision have evolved from the past to the present, and what the future may hold. They also visited the Kodak Gallery, discovering the remarkable history of photography, before experiencing the interactive exhibits and hands-on fun of the Wonderlab.

The visit was a fantastic opportunity for learners to build their confidence, develop their language skills, and learn more about the rich cultural and technological heritage on their doorstep.

Most importantly, everyone had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience! 😊
