The Eldwick Church Santa visit – Tuesday 13th December 10.00 – 11.00
Santa will be visiting the church cafe for anyone who would like to see him (he is such a kind and wonderful man and well worth coming to see – photo below).
He will be sitting at one of the tables and ready to have a chat with children (or adults!) who would like to see him. It will be a relaxed atmosphere and ideal for any children that are anxious about seeing him as they will be able to sit in the café and have a drink or snack whilst observing him and then hopefully building up the courage to come over and say ‘Hi’!
Please bring a wrapped present for your child, clearly named please as Santa’s eyesight is not what it used to be!
This is a free event but we are supporting the Reverse Advent Calendar appeal to help those people in need this Christmas (see information below) and we would be grateful if families could bring in at least one item to donate to the appeal and I will make them up into shoe boxes ready for the collection date.
We hope that you can make it, but please do let us know that you are coming so that Santa has an idea about visitor numbers! Email Jane at [email protected], text to 07981124093 or contact us via Messenger to our page – The Villages Pre-School Eldwick.
Best wishes

Something to be aware of as we approach Easter.
Little signs of Spring are popping up all over the place... daffodils, snowdrops, and, oh yes, Mini Eggs! 🐣 One of life’s greatest pleasures, BUT have you ever noticed this before?
Mini Eggs have a warning on the back - not suitable for children under 4.
Solid chocolate eggs pose a choking risk to children - they're very similar in shape and size to grapes.
So, it might just be for the best if you (carefully) eat them yourself... 🤣
And if you don't already know what to do if a child starts choking, visit www.minifirstaid.co.uk to book a place on a class near you.
Learn how to save a life. 💚

We are sorry to have taken the decision to cancel the group for the foreseeable future, but unfortunately with low numbers of people attending, we cannot afford to keep it open at a financial loss. Covid and illness undoubtedly have had an impact on availability to attend and we do appreciate this, but had to make a decision one way or another. We also need some new younger-age range toys (and are struggling for storage), we need a practitioner to facilitate the group from an insurance perspective and require a certain level of attendance to keep it viable. In contrast, pre-school is extremely busy at the moment and the additional space can be utilised in other ways.

Playgroup sessions are suspended until at least Easter. I am so sorry, but Julie and her team will make you very welcome at church cafe, open at 10.00.

Just a reminder that there's no playgroup this week as it's half term 🙂

Playgroup is cancelled this coming week as unfortunately the room will be in use for pre-school. Apologies for any inconvenience.

A child attending yesterday has since tested positive for covid, they had no symptoms yesterday. Thought it best to pass on the information so you are aware.

We will be back open on Thursday13th January 2022 😀9.30 to 11.00, hope to see you there.....Please note though, as numbers of Covid are high within the local area, we'd appreciate it if you can take a lateral flow test before coming, just to try and keep it as safe an environment as possible.
We will set the room up with resources along with hot drinks for adults and snack for the children but it will be a self-serve approach and without a member of the pre-school team reading a story or leading singing. We do recognise the importance of groups such as ours remaining open to support families and hope that this self-contained approach will meet your needs for the next few weeks! 🥰

Happy new year to you all! We are planning to re-open next Thursday (13th January) but are keeping a close eye on Covid cases within the local area....I'll keep you posted but hopefully we will see you next week.

Just a reminder that Santa is visiting us on Thursday morning and booking into playgroup is essential so I can keep track of numbers! Bring a present wrapped for your child and clearly named (Santa's eyesight is not what it used to be!) and also a flask-type cup for a hot drink (we have some spares but we want to ensure everyone can have a coffee or tea!).....playgroup runs 9.30 to 11.00 in The Eldwick Church. Hope to see you there...ho ho ho!
