Tomorrow is World Book Day, and it’s the perfect chance to spark a love of reading in every child. Stories don’t just build literacy skills, they inspire curiosity, boost confidence and open doors to new worlds.

This week’s highlights simple, practical ways families can make reading part of everyday life. From creating cosy reading spaces to showing children that reading is fun, small habits can make a big impact.

KS2 Easter Church Service

Our KS2 Easter Church Service will take place at St James' Church, Thornton, on Wednesday 25th March at 10:30 am. All parents and carers are welcome to join us at the service; however, only our KS2 pupils will be attending.

The children will walk to church in their classes on the morning of the service. Parents will need to meet us at the church. After the service, our KS2 children will then walk back to school, again with their class. These arrangements are weather-dependent; if the weather is poor, the service will be held in school.

We will be having a party on Tuesday, 24th March, to celebrate Eid al-Fitr.

The party will take place after school from 3:30-4:30pm and all children are welcome to attend. There will be dancing, food, and face painting!

Tickets are £3 each and are available from ParentPay or from the office. Tickets must be purchased by Friday, 20th March.

We will be holding a non-uniform day on Friday, 6th March. Children can come to school in non-uniform in exchange for donations of Easter chocolate and sweets for our Easter Raffle.
