🥰

Talking to a pupil about their wellbeing can feel daunting, particularly when you are unsure what to say or worried about hearing something concerning.

Our latest guide reminds educators that they do not need to be specialists to provide meaningful support.

The guide explores:
• Building warm, trusting relationships
• Choosing a safe and appropriate place to talk
• Using side-by-side conversations to reduce pressure
• Staying calm when a pupil shares a concern
• Being clear and honest about confidentiality
• Knowing when to involve safeguarding colleagues or seek support yourself

It also includes practical conversation starters to help staff open discussions gently and give pupils space to talk when they are ready.

Help to shape local services. 😊

Could you take part in a short survey to help Bradford Council’s early education and childcare service?

It will help the service understand parents' and carers' views and needs, and identify areas where additional childcare places may be needed.

They would like to hear from families with children from birth up to 11 years of age.

Please complete the survey below by Friday, 9 October 2026. Link below. 👇

Today was our Focus Trust Collective Learning Day. All 15 schools in our Trust joined together virtually to hear key messages from Emma Turner about the cognitive science of learning. These messages and the reflective work that followed will strengthen the way in which we deliver our lessons to ensure all children reach their potential!

Useful information for parents.😊

Discord gives young people a space to chat, play games and join communities based around shared interests.

While it can be a positive way to connect with friends, there are also important risks for parents and educators to understand.

Our latest guide highlights:
• Contact with strangers
• Harassment and harmful behaviour
• Exposure to inappropriate content
• Gaming and socialising becoming a distraction
• Spending and subscription risks

It also shares practical advice on using Discord’s Family Centre, reviewing privacy and spending settings, talking openly about suspicious behaviour and agreeing clear expectations around screen time.
