We would like to let all parents know that the milk we are provided with for the children comes from Dales Dairies, this is Bovaer Free!
Thank You
The Wishing Well Team
Bovaer Free
We are aware of growing public concern over the use of a feed supplement called Bovaer being fed to Dairy cattle. Bovaer is designed to reduce methane emissions from cows.
Dales Dairies support eco-friendly measures throughout all our supply chain and farming practices that are sustainable.
Dales Dairies can confirm that non of our supplying farms are using Bovaer.
If you have concerns over your current milk supply, please feel free to contact Dales Dairies and we will put you in touch with a Bovaer free supplier.

đBonfire Nightđ
For many people, fireworks form a key element in celebrating Bonfire Night. Watching a firework display can be exciting and beautiful and we want you to enjoy them safely.
However, we know that many people purchase fireworks every year. Itâs vital you remember that they contain explosives and can cause a lot of harm if not stored and used correctly.
Follow these safety tips to safeguard yourself and your loved ones around fireworks:
⢠Only buy products displaying the official CE mark.
⢠Buy only from reputable retailers.
⢠Never drink alcohol when handling fireworks.
⢠Store them in their original packaging with the lid closed.
⢠Read the instructions and follow them to the letter.
⢠Light them at armâs length using a taper to protect yourself.
⢠Stand well back when they are lit.
⢠Never return to a lit firework until it has gone off.
⢠Supervise children and keep all pets indoors.
⢠Never set off fireworks after 11pm â this is against the law.
If you are planning to set fireworks off, itâs courteous to tell your neighbours beforehand. This can help alert people so they can prepare themselves for the noise and keep nervous pets indoors.
Itâs not just pet owners who will benefit from being alerted in advance. People who have served in the Armed Forces can often find loud bangs stressful.
Staying safe around bonfires:
It is recommended not having a bonfire in your garden. They can easily get out of hand and cause a risk to life.
There are lots of organised bonfire events each year, with full safety precautions taking place in advance.
Professional events will have full risk assessments in place, with things like escape routes, first aid, and emergency fire fighting equipment to hand. Organisers also alert the local council and emergency services of the event, so that they are aware itâs happening. The difference with holding your own is that the fire can get out of hand and become very dangerous.
You can find local organised bonfires online in the lead-up to Bonfire Night.
If you must have a bonfire, please follow these tips:
⢠Tell your neighbours about your plans. This can help to stop unnecessary 999 calls.
⢠Donât build it too far in advance â leaving material lying around can encourage antisocial behaviour.
⢠Keep the fire well away from fences and sheds.
⢠Do not build the fire under any trees or bushes.
⢠Check there are no children or animals hiding in the bonfire before you light it.
⢠Place a barrier around the fire and keep everyone at least 5m away when itâs lit.
⢠Only burn untreated wood and not any rubbish or other items.
⢠Do not use accelerants such as petrol to light the fire.
⢠Keep a bucket of water nearby just in case.
If the fire gets out of hand, call 999 and ask for the fire service straight away.
Sparklers are very popular and can be great fun for the whole family. But they do burn at very high temperatures and can easily cause injuries if not used properly.
If you want to give sparklers to children, give them only one at a time and always supervise them.
Consider sticking the sparkler into a carrot and asking the child to hold the carrot instead. This reduces the risk of them burning their hands when the sparkler burns down.
Always extinguish each sparkler in a bucket of water when youâre done.
Have Fun!

đťHalloweenđ
Advice for parents:
⢠Make or buy costumes in light-coloured material
⢠Avoid cheap floaty materials which may catch fire easily
⢠Place strips of reflective tape on the back and front of costumes, so drivers can better see your child
⢠Dress your child for the weather. Add layers if needed
If your child is going out without an adult:
⢠Make sure your child is in a group of at least three people
⢠Give them a torch. A mobile phone is also a good idea if you have one.
⢠Discuss in advance the route they should follow. Ask them to call you if they plan to go on a street that isnât on the route
⢠Avoid crossing main roads if possible
Advice for children:
⢠Donât visit houses that are not well lit. Never go inside a strangerâs house
⢠Avoid houses you know which have frail or vulnerable owners. They may not share your enthusiasm for Halloween!!
⢠Try and visit houses of friends, family or immediate neighbours if possible
⢠Be aware of candles or naked flames on doorsteps
⢠Should the worst happen and your costume catches fire â STOP, DROP and ROLL
Advice for home occupants:
⢠Turn on outdoor lights, and replace burnt-out bulbs
⢠Remove items from your drive or porch that might trip a child
⢠Sweep wet leaves from your steps and driveway
⢠Use an alternative to candles in your pumpkins, such as a torch, LED or a battery-operated candle
⢠Remember that some children have food allergies. Consider giving other simple treats such as stickers, pens or a yo-yo
⢠Put a polite notice on your door if you do not wish to have trick or treat visitors
Advice for drivers:
⢠Be aware of small groups on pavements and possibly crossing roads
⢠Drive to the conditions which may be slippery due to wet leaves and visibility may be poor
⢠Slow down in residential areas where groups (sometimes in dark clothing) may be crossing the road
We hope everyone has a lovely Halloween, stay safe!
