Bradford Girls' Grammar School

Twenty-five girls participated in the Positive Ambition course. As part of this 12-week program, they completed a first aid course conducted by Jack Barns from Flying Futures. During the training, the girls learned about CPR and wound dressing. Well done to all the participants!

We are thrilled to announce that Podzzz won the regional Final at Big Ideas yesterday. The event took place today at the University of Bradford, where we competed against incredible teams from The Halifax Academy, Outwood Academy Shafton, Bishop Young C of E Academy, and St. Bernard's Catholic High School 🎉.

All the teams brought their A-game, and it was a tough competition, but we are excited to be named the winners!

We're excited to share that our Year 4 to Year 6 students recently welcomed the Bradford Road Safety Team for an important session on seat belt usage. The visit highlighted the critical importance of wearing seat belts through engaging activities and discussions. Students learned about the life-saving benefits and legal requirements associated with buckling up every time they're in a vehicle. We encourage you to reinforce these lessons at home, fostering a culture of responsible road behaviour. Thanks to the Bradford Road Safety Team for coming and sharing their time with the children!

Our Y9 students who were successfully shortlisted for the next round of the Big Ideas programme, ran by Solutions for the planet, have been finalising and practicing their presentations in preparation for the Regional Final held at Bradford University on Wednesday 15th May.

The 4 teams of students, 21 in total, will present in front of a panel of judges and other competing teams from around the region in the hope of securing a place in the national final, which is held at the Palace of Westminster, London, in June.

The students, supported by our mentors Dave and Elle from Northern gas networks, have worked incredibly hard to get to this stage. We wish them all the best for their event next week.

Our Year 5 students are diving into the 'Relationships' unit, starting with an insightful exploration of their unique qualities and characteristics. Together, we're discovering how to boost our self-esteem and become even stronger individuals. Stay tuned for more

It was amazing to see all the secondary BDAT schools come together for a friendly yet exhilarating math showdown! 🧮 The teams were mixed, adding an extra layer of excitement, and the rounds of mathematical problem-solving truly put everyone's skills to the test.

🏆 We're thrilled to share that our team of 8 talented Year 8 students absolutely shone! 🌟 With 6 out of the 8 students clinching victories in different rounds, and 2 emerging as the champions of the entire competition, our pride knows no bounds! 🥳🎉

Year 3 were very excited to open the book boxes that were kindly delivered today from World Of Stories.
" I can’t wait for them to be in the library" one child said.
"I have a list of 4 books already that I want to read!’’ said another.
We are very lucky to be taking part in a year long program run by ‘World of Stories’ to help us develop our reading for pleasure and our library collection so thank you for the books Random House!
