We are so excited to announce our first in person event. A free public lecture with Duncan Miller of Vulcan Records and a screening of D.A Pennebaker's documentary Original Cast Album: Company (1970).

Welcome Dr Barbara Gentili!

In honour of the 75th , we want to share the work of the first winner of Best Original Score Street Scene. The show is set in New York in the 1940s and centres around a family over two days of a heatwave.

Instead of black carbon, colored records are created using different colored dyes mixed with PVC as part of the manufacturing process. It's this process of mixing different ingredients that can, potentially, make the record sound different.
The cast recording for Matilda is blue, Once on this island is orange and Hadestown is red. Are there any others you can think of?

On this day 27 years ago BBC Radio 2 aired the first series of classical musicals.
Do you remember your first time hearing a musical on the radio?

Hamilton: An American Musical soundtrack was so popular, a second album was recorded of certain songs from the musical put together called The Hamilton Mixtape featuring singers like Alicia Keys and John Legend.

This cast recording reached number 1 on the Apple Music album charts.
The album features moments of dialogue not previously captured in the West End recording.
