Little Treasures Childminding by Becky Mitchell I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder based in Baildon, West Yorkshire I am also registered with the tax free childcare scheme provided by the government.

My aim is to provide a home from home childcare service where children are nurtured and feel secure and confident. Children will learn and develop through play and everyday quality interactions and experiences. I am able to take children who are eligible for the Two Year old offer, Universal 15 hours of Early Education Funding as well as Extended Entitlement 30 hour funding. I have over 20 years childcare experience, having worked in a private day nursery and latterly as the Assistant Manager of a pre-school, before moving into childminding in August 2020. I hold a CACHE Diploma in Nursery Nursing and specialize in Early Years Care and Education. I am a mum of two older children, both at a local secondary school. We are a fun loving, musical family with both of my children playing various instruments.

We started our day with a walk to the local park in the glorious autumn sunshine. The children are really enjoying creative activities, particularly painting, at the moment so when we got home we tried something new. Printing with bubble wrap! Attaching the bubble wrap to the top of a yoghurt pot gave the children something they could easily hold to print with. The children seemed to really enjoy this one and we will definitely revisit it.

We had a lovely walk this morning to search for conkers and autumn leaves. We brought home lots of lovely autumn treasures and used some of the leaves to have a go at leaf printing. We added lots of the conkers and leaves to our trays to make The Gruffalo and his friends feel more at home!

This week we are looking at all things Gruffalo! With the release of Gruffalo Granny last week (I think I'm more excited than the children about this!) and Autumn well and truly beginning to show it seemed like the perfect time to revisit The Gruffalo. We started our week by sharing the story of The Gruffalo, we used our wooden Gruffalo characters to tell the story together and we talked about the colours we could see in the 'deep dark wood'. We then used some of the colours we had talked about to make our own beautiful paintings.

A little snippet of what we've been up to during the first two weeks of term. We've been spending time getting to know each other again after the summer break and our newest Little Treasure has settled in like an absolute dream! We've enjoyed playing at home and in the garden, mark making, baking, visiting the local park and the local library and Happy Planet . We were also very excited to return to Amanda 🌟🌛 on Friday where some of our friends from Vikki O'Brien joined us to have fun with Robot Reg! It's been a lovely settled start to term and the children have been incredibly settled. I'm super proud of them all!

Missed my busy little crew today when I took a walk to the Community Garden but I took the opportunity to wander around and look at the beautiful flowers. It's such a beautiful place and so peaceful.

Another year comes to an end. Filled with lots of fun and adventures, laughter, a few tears, lots of hellos to new children, and a couple of heartfelt goodbyes.

A quieter day today with only one little one so a lovely walk in the sunshine and then exploring the nature reserve. We spotted lots of swans, geese and ducks, lots of dogs and lots of people riding bikes!
