Year 6 enjoyed a fantastic trip to a Junior Good Citizens event, learning vital life skills to keep themselves safe. They explored real-life scenarios covering road awareness, anti-social behaviour and personal safety. A brilliant, interactive day that helped build confidence and awareness!

What a fantastic time some children had at Warleigh Lodge Farm. They enjoyed running about the fields, and then exploring the tree line for signs of wildlife! They saw a badger sett and found plenty of places that a minibeast could live. Next, they walked through the sheep fields towards an ancient tree. They took a tractor ride to see some beautiful South Devon cows and their calves and then it was time for lunch! The fun didn't stop there: after lunch, the children fed the lambs milk and straw, made a bed for the pigs and fed the chickens! A huge thank you to all the parent helpers who came and to Farmer Julian and Rose.🐮

Eggciting Times!
Swift Class have been super lucky, as parents from Stowford Manor Farm provided them with everything they needed to hatch chicks from eggs! The children learned about: the role of an incubator; candling the eggs to see if there is a chick inside; the pipping stage where little holes appear; and finally the joy of hatching chicks themselves! They were incredibly lucky to get six chicks from six eggs!

In preparation for art week, the children at Fitzmaurice have worked alongside No Added Sugar to create their own paint spinning artwork! The children (and adults) loved getting to choose their colours and design, while watching the machine spin it into a unique piece of art. We cannot wait to see the finished installment! 🎨
