We have reached March already, so next week we starting our spring activities. We are making spring lamb pictures and planting flowers, among other activities.

Hello everyone

Next week we are junk modelling. The children have chosen what they are making. Each day we are adding something to our models starting with painting tomorrow. So the creations will be going home when they are complete, later this week.

We break for half term this Friday 13th and return on Monday 23rd February.

Next week our focus with be on using scissors. We will have lots of different activities to support cutting skills

Among the benefits of using scissors correctly are :

Build hand and finger strength.
Develop skills for fingers to work together.
Independent movements of each finger.
Increased hand and finger dexterity.
Promote functional grasp.
Increase focus and attention to a task.

Fine motor skills in early years are crucial for independence (dressing, eating, zipping), early literacy (writing, cutting, drawing), cognitive growth (problem-solving, attention), and social-emotional development (confidence, collaboration)
