As we look ahead to the new term in September, a reminder that behaviour, presentation and readiness to learn matter.

All students are expected to comply with the Seven Habits of Highly Effective Garth Hill College Pupils and “Behave Impeccably.” This means being punctual to College and every lesson, wearing full College uniform and arriving equipped with the correct Tools for Learning.

These expectations help create a positive environment where everyone can learn and succeed. Thank you to all parents and carers for your continued support in helping students meet these standards.

Please check the College’s Code of Dress and Presentation ahead of September to ensure students are ready for a smooth start to the new academic year.

As the holidays come to an end, we’re looking forward to welcoming pupils back to college on Thursday 3 September 2026.

First Day Arrangements:
Pupils should arrive as normal and enter via their usual entrances.
08:30am: Year 7 arrival — tutors will meet pupils in the Inner Link.
09:00am: Year 12 arrival — please go to the Sixth Form Building.
09:30am: Years 8 and 9 arrival — please go to tutor rooms.
09:40am: Years 10 and 11 arrival — please go to tutor rooms.
10:15am: Year 13 arrival — please go to the Sixth Form Building.

We can’t wait to see everyone and start another great year together! 😀

We are incredibly proud to celebrate GH6 student Arina, who has achieved an outstanding A A A* A A** and secured an offer to study at the University of Oxford!

Arina’s achievement reflects her exceptional academic ability, dedication and passion for science. She was also awarded Silver in the 2026 UK Chemistry Olympiad, recognising her ability to tackle challenging problems beyond the A Level specification, and was a finalist in the 2023 Young Science Writer Award for her essay exploring whether humanity could one day relocate to Mars.

Reflecting on her success, Arina said she was “very happy” with her results and that, despite the challenges of balancing exams and Oxford interview preparation, “the struggle was worth it.”

We are incredibly proud of Arina and wish her every success as she takes the next exciting step in her academic journey at Oxford. 🌟🎉👏

We are incredibly proud to congratulate our Year 11 students on their GCSE results, with their hard work, dedication and commitment rewarded by some excellent achievements, including 52.8% achieving a Grade 4+ in both English and Maths.

We are especially delighted to celebrate some outstanding individual performances, including Carrick Chu, who achieved 9 Grade 9s and 3 Grade 8s, Nathan Bathina with 7 Grade 9s, and several students achieving between 3 and 6 Grade 9s, with many more excellent results across the year group.

A huge congratulations to all our students, and our thanks to staff and families for their support. We are incredibly proud of you all – well done! 👏🎓

We are delighted for our students celebrating their exam success today. We wish all our students the very best as they go onto the next stage of their lives, for some to top universities in the UK, including Oxford University and overseas; others apprenticeships and excellent job opportunities. Congratulations to all our talented students who showcased their incredible artwork at last week's Summer Art & Photography Exhibition! 🎨📸

The exhibition was a fantastic celebration of creativity, with outstanding artwork from every year group.

A huge thank you to Mr Hall, Mrs Saunders, Mr Reid and Mrs Stevenson for their support, and to Wellington College and Daler Rowney for championing the arts at Garth Hill College. 👏

Local creativity is taking over The Lexicon this summer! 🐉

Students from 10 local secondary schools and colleges have transformed dragon eggs into incredible works of art as part of our Dragons at The Lexicon trail. Sponsored by Daler-Rowney, each school receives a bundle of premium art supplies in recognition of their creativity.

Visit this summer to discover the decorated dragon eggs, meet our animatronic dragons and LEGO® dragon, and enjoy a packed programme of family fun and prizes!
