🌺 My Ohana Cheltenham Training Day & Reunion 🌺

Yesterday, our wonderful team came together for a valuable day of EYFS updates, safeguarding, and training — keeping our knowledge fresh and continuing to grow together so we can provide the very best care and learning experiences for our children. 💛

And once all the hard work was done… it was time for the fun! 🎉

We were so excited to welcome back some familiar faces for our very special nursery reunion. 🥰 There were lots of smiles, laughter, memories and plenty of catching up — a lovely reminder that once you’re part of our Ohana, you’re always part of our Ohana! ❤️

Happy International Dog Day! 🐶

Dogs have a way of teaching children things that are hard to put into words: patience, kindness and how to care for someone who depends on you. Whether it's a wagging tail joining them on a walk home or a dog they've grown up with, that bond often becomes one of the earliest lessons in empathy little ones experience.

They teach our little ones so much without ever meaning to, and today's the perfect day to celebrate them.

Early weekday mornings don't always go to plan, and that's completely normal 🍳

But it doesn't need to be complicated. A few simple ideas for busy mornings:

🍌 Banana porridge - ready in around five minutes, with mashed banana adding natural sweetness.
🥑 Avocado on toast - quick, simple and easy to put together when you're short on time.
🥣 Overnight oats - prep them the night before and that's one less job to think about in the morning.
🥚 Soft-boiled egg and soldiers - perfect for mornings when you have a little more time.

Some days, you'll get it all done or have it ready the night before, other days you might have to throw it together quickly.

September is just around the corner - and if you want to access your funded childcare hours from the start of the new term, make sure you apply by 31st August.

All 3 and 4 year olds in England can access 15 hours of funded childcare a week from the term after their third birthday. And if you're an eligible working parent, you could receive up to 30 funded hours a week for children aged 9 months to 4 years.

Start by checking your eligibility at childcarechoices.gov.uk, then set up a Childcare Account through the Government Gateway to complete your application. Once approved, you'll receive an 11-digit code to share with your nursery along with your National Insurance number and your child's date of birth.

Starting somewhere new takes time for everyone 💛

We offer settling in sessions for all children joining us, to make sure your little one grows in confidence, adjusts to their new surroundings and you feel happy when leaving them. Our setting manager will agree the best process for you and your child, as every family is different. Your little one will meet their key worker during all settling in sessions to start building that bond from the very beginning, and we'll take time to discuss routines, needs and interests to make sure we're providing the right care from the start.

We work closely with you from the start to make sure your little one has the right environment, the right support and a care plan that genuinely reflects their needs.

Every My Ohana nursery has a dedicated SENCO who will get to know your child, put together an Individual Education Plan, and stay connected with any professionals or agencies involved in their care. You are always part of that conversation.
