Four WHS Heads, Housians, as well as former and current parents, staff and governors gathered in St Peter's Church to celebrate the life of former pupil and Headmaster Richard Speight (Housian from 1947-1953 and Headmaster from 1967-97).

We were delighted to welcome Richard's sister and former staff member Sheila Macintosh and her son Patrick to the service and afternoon tea.

As governor Richard Greaves said in his address, Richard Speight was "a legend" who shaped WHS into the School it is today. We shall always be grateful for the life long service Richard gave to WHS.
