Just a reminder that, as stated in our communications, the Arbor Parent App will be live and available for parents and carers to use from 9am tomorrow — Thursday 10 September.

There’s no need to worry if you haven’t been able to access it yet. The app will not be available for use until 9am tomorrow.

Once live, the app will provide parents and carers with convenient access to a range of information and services relating to their child.

Thank you for your patience while we make this important change to our school systems. We hope you’ll find Arbor a useful and convenient way to stay connected with the school.

📚 Sixth Form Information Evening

📢 Important Update for Thursday’s Return to School 📢

Following our earlier Back to School post, please see some additional information regarding our staggered start arrangements and school transport services.

If your child uses school transport, the following providers have arranged a second pick up for years 8, 9, 10, 11 and 13, please check the updated transport information carefully.

Cheney Travel -
Cheney will operate two pick-ups for Thursday

• The first will be at the normal contracted time.
• The second will run approximately as follows:

Please ensure your child is at their usual collection point 15 minutes before pick up.
Service numbers are:

114 - Helmdon 10:53am pick up time arriving at school circa 11:15
115 - Clifton/Aynho 10:40am pick up time arriving at school circa 11:15
116 - Croughton 10:50am pick up time - arriving at school circa 11:15am
117 – Syresham (we are awaiting confirmation due to a new coach company operating this route, we will update this information as soon as possible)

Langston & Tasker -
Langston & Tasker will operate a first and second pick up; the entire route will operate as per timetable. The second pick up will run exactly the same but 3hrs later (arriving at school for 11:25am).

Please note: All other contracted vehicles will collect students at their normal time and will not facilitate a second pick up time.

📚✨ Back to School – First Day Arrangements ✨📚

We hope everyone has had a wonderful summer break and enjoyed some well deserved rest.

We are looking forward to welcoming all students back on Thursday 3rd September for the start of the new academic year. As a gentle reminder, please see below the first day arrangements for each year group.

📅 First Day Schedule
🔹 Year 7
Arrive at the normal school start time of 8:45am.
🔹 Year 12
Report to the Chapel at 8:45am for tutor group allocations and lanyard distribution.
🔹 Years 8-11 & Year 13

Arrive during break time (11:15am-11:40am) and be ready for Lesson 3, starting at 11:40am.

Dear Year 11 students,

We are looking forward to seeing you next Thursday to celebrate your results with you! Below is a reminder of the information that we shared with you at the end of last term:

Y11 Results Day – Thursday 20th August

You will receive an email to your school email address on the Wednesday afternoon with instructions of how you can access your results online at 8am on the Thursday morning.

You are welcome to come and celebrate your results with your peers and teachers between 9am-11am at St John’s. You will also receive an envelope containing a printed copy of your results.

Staff will be available on the day to also offer advice and support if needed.

🌑 A Partial Eclipse Is Coming!

Our Science Department has been getting ready for the partial solar eclipse later today, and it brought back some wonderful school memories!

One member of staff remembers a previous eclipse that took place in the middle of the school day, when classes were taken out into the Science car park to observe it safely using pinhole cameras. 🔭

Dr Dixon and the rest of the Science Faculty would like to say thank you to Jane Gilmore for her years of dedicated service at MCS. She has been an amazing teacher, form tutor, colleague and friend. We hope she likes her bunch of flowers and chemistry beaker vase.
