From a football coach studying the stats to a chef making sure everyone’s food is ready at the same time, the jobs and occupations at the heart of this super-creative non-fiction read will inspire all children to seek out the everyday maths in the world around us. Who’s behind the book?

Always played with Lego from a young age and wanted to be one of the lucky people who got to make the Lego structures you see in places.

Foundation and Kindy teachers: please consider using Lego. While the effects weren’t notable in primary, Playing more lego from ages 3-5 was linked with:
- better maths achievement in high school from year 9 up
- choosing higher maths subjects in senior and doing better at them
- choosing STEM careers post-school
Plus
- noticeable improvements on standardised testing from year 7 onwards.
You might not see an immediate benefit, but the longer term ones are awesome.
