The Centre is run by a team of enthusiastic and experienced teachers who all work for the Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust, and provides an exciting selection of music, art and drama sessions for anyone aged 3 plus. For our younger children who perhaps have not started to learn an instrument yet, we offer an introduction to music through the use of instruments such as the ukulele,
recorder, glockenspiel and percussion, and also encourage the children to sing and take part in lots of fun music games. Our other music groups for those who already play an instrument, include two orchestras and Jazz bands, a variety of Strings, Woodwind, Brass, Guitar and Ukulele groups, plus a Percussion group and two Rock bands. We cater for all abilities from the absolute beginner to the more advanced and we cover an extensive range of musical genres from Classical to Rock and Folk. The art groups enable all children to explore many aspects of art using pastels, paint, pencils and collage, plus areas of craftwork. The Drama and Musical Theatre groups are a great place to build confidence, and give the children an insight into the technical elements of drama through activities, games and performance opportunities.
