A Happy New Year!

I hope all my customers have had a restful festive break. Tutoring classes commence from Saturday 10th January.

I hold tutoring sessions Monday to Saturday including the evenings. I currently only have spaces on Tuesday & Wednesday evenings, I am fully booked out Thursday through to Monday. Please go to my website for more information on my qualifications, the subjects I offer and a full price list.

2025 has been a hugely successful year, thank you to everyone who have recommended me to friends. I have always found word of mouth is the best.

My Knitting Patterns by Edith Grace Designs has really grown over the last year, making my creative arts business 14 years old in 2026. This brand also includes Edith Grace Creations & Edith Grace Vintage. I have also been fortunate to share and display my textile artwork over the past year, and met many interesting artists and creative people along the way.

Hello...
It has been a while since I last posted. I hope everyone had a lovely summer break. I have been really busy over the summer; the studio was in daily use with dressmaking, textiles, and knitting each week.

Today's tutoring project, a 1970s ruffled skirt, a third ruffle will be added next week.

Happy Sunday

It has all of a sudden become very busy in the studio, thank you to everyone who recommends me. Still, I do enjoy a complete day off to connect with nature, find inspiration for my knitting pattern designs & textile artwork, and to prepare myself for the next week of tutoring projects. Here is a little reel from last week, it was a glorious Sunday morning walk at Stoke Bruerne along the Grand Union Canal, with my husband and little dog.

Monday... another week of projects, to be started or finished, wonderful.

I have had a couple of messages enquiring about workshops. I only provide one-on-one tutoring sessions, but these can be extended to having 2 to 3 people present, so friends or family members can attend. This can also share the cost of the lesson. Happy Sunday
Over the last couple of months, I have been exploring hand embroidery & text. This piece of hand embroidery is inspired by the wheat fields along the road from Juniper Hill to Cottisford, where I would visit regularly as a young child, and where my uncle, aunt, and cousins lived. It is very much in my heart. I have added the first paragraph from Flora Thompson's novel 'Lark Rise' (1939) to contextualise the textile piece.
