Every year, our Year 6 pupils are given £5 and challenged to make it grow.

Working in teams, they create a business plan, carry out market research, source their own materials, make or bake their products, and plan how to sell them to the rest of the school.

This year, they did an incredible job, making just under £300 in profit. The money raised will go towards their end-of-year celebration at GO Ape, Moors Valley.

Our Year 6 pupils recently enjoyed an exciting trip to Bournemouth University to learn more about higher education and future career opportunities.

As a university renowned for its strengths in the creative industries, Bournemouth University gave pupils a fascinating insight into courses and careers in media, animation and film. Throughout the day, they explored what university life is like and discovered the many pathways available to them in the future.

The pupils returned buzzing with excitement and inspiration, full of ideas about what they might achieve in years to come.

We work closely with MYTIME Charity to provide opportunities for our young carers.

Recently, we travelled to Springhead Trust with our Young Carers Champions, Mrs Stone and Mrs Evans, for a fantastic day of activities. Students enjoyed gardening, painting pots and rocks, baking, and spending time at the stunning venue.

What a fantastic day for our Year 3/4 reward trip!

As a thank you and well done for a year filled with hard work, resilience and determination (and remember, the year isn’t over yet!), our children enjoyed an exciting outdoor adventure experience funded through the money raised from our sponsored walk.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated and supported us – your generosity helped make this memorable day possible.

The children challenged themselves with activities including crate stacking, fire making and tomahawk throwing, all while developing our Power Skills: communication, collaboration, critical problem solving, creativity and character in authentic, real-life situations.

Our House Challenge encouraged us to get out and explore our local area, and we certainly took advantage of the wonderful weather.

There have been so many incredible adventures, memories made, and new places discovered along the way. It has been wonderful to see our children out and about, enjoying everything that our local community has to offer and making the most of the beautiful area we are lucky enough to live in.

Explorer’s Club

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 have been out and about after school every Tuesday, exploring our local area.

This week, our young adventurers visited Corfe Castle, leaving no nook or cranny unexplored. They showed real curiosity, enthusiasm and a wonderful sense of adventure throughout the trip.

As part of their Hook Day for their new topic, Brave Man, Cave Man, Year 3 enjoyed an exciting visit to Stonehenge.

The weather certainly didn’t dampen their spirits, and they loved every minute of the experience. During the visit, the children had the opportunity to handle genuine Neolithic artefacts, explore the museum, and discover the wonders of the ancient site itself.

They were exceptionally well behaved throughout the day, with members of the public and staff regularly commenting on their excellent manners and enthusiasm.
