Yr 6 arrived safely for their residential at Land & Wave in Swanage - this afternoon they have had a great time orienteering and exploring Corfe Castle.

We have lots of stalls (subject to change) - Adrian our music man, beat the goalie, welly wanging, hook a boat, lucky dip, tombolas, lucky dip, lolly pick, treasure hunt, wine-prime-whine, 50/50 draw, facepainting, pop up role play, inflatable slide, obstacle course, kiddies ride, striker, jar sweet tombola, girl guide tombola, jewellery, personalised gifts, pocket money toys, crystals, body shop, Avon, crafts & gifts, ice cream van, hot dogs and burgers, donuts, slushies, candyfloss, hot & cold drinks (unfortunately no bar) and more…please bring change as this event is cash only although some of our vendors may take card payment.
Please try and avoid School Lane and park either on Poole Lane and surrounding roads, there’s a free car park behind the library or tesco has limited stay parking. Respect our neighbours and please park responsibly.
Remember that the whole school site is ‘no smoking’ and we have a ‘no dogs’ policy.
It’s supposed to be hot so make sure you and your children drink fluids, use sun lotion/wear a hat and keep sun safe.

We have Em’s mini farm with Dave the Sheep, goats, pigs and a Shetland pony, inflatable obstacle course, merry go round, welly wanging, sweets, drinks, and lots of craft and hobby stalls, lucky dip, face painting, treasure hunt, tombolas.

We have received a lovely certificate and plaque from the Mayor at the Bournemouth in Bloom presentation today
RKN enjoyed a wonderful trip down to Bournemouth Seaside. We spent time playing in the sand, walked along the pier and enjoyed some games in the gardens. The children made excellent links with their prior learning!
Year 3 had a wonderful time at St Barbe's Museum yesterday learning about the difference between Smugglers and Pirates!

PSFA Message - Thank you to everyone that donated to the Rainbow Raffle M***i on Friday, items will be used to make up hampers for our fete on 7th July.
Y6 have been focusing on how to live a healthy lifestyle. This morning they had a visit from AFC Bournemouth including a member of the AFC Bournemouth ladies first team to discuss diet, exercise and sleep then in science they followed up by investigating the effects of exercise on their heart rate and breathing rate.

Remember that tomorrow children are invited to wear their own clothes for a donation. Please bring in an item in the colour linked to your childs class as detailed in the attached flyer. The PSFA will make up Rainbow hampers to raffle at the Summer Fete on 7th July.
Please do not bring in perishable items, make sure items are in date and if you are donating alcohol please bring this in yourself and do not send it in with the children. If you choose to bring in Prime please make sure it is the ‘hydration’ one that is coconut milk.
Below are a few ideas, but see if the kids can use their imagination - if you would prefer you can send your child in with £1.00.

Year 4 had a brilliant day at the Museum of East Dorset learning all about how people lived during the Victorian era.
Thank you to everyone that supported the Father’s Day pop up shop…we still have a few gifts left if you want to hand your child £2 at the end of the day they can pop and see me in the library.

Year 6 have been using their baking skills this afternoon making wartime bread. They followed a WW2 recipe and produced some lovely tasty bread to taste tomorrow.
Year 6 had a visit from Bournemouth University to discuss the opportunities within sports in their future career. They investigated the range of courses available at BU before coaching each other in a PE lesson.
Our Young Carers enjoyed an activity day at Adventure Pirates on Friday. They showed courage, perseverance and great teamwork.
Y6 have produced some fabulous artwork as part of their Street Art topic. The children worked together to produce these wonderful murals to inspire other children at Kinson Academy. Please take a look when you visit the school. Well done Year 6!
FATHER’S DAY - PSFA POP UP SHOP
FRIDAY 16th JUNE
This is an in-school event and your child will have the opportunity to visit the pop-up shop throughout the school day. They will have the opportunity to purchase a gift for the special male in their lives, dad, brother, uncle, grandfather in celebration of fathers day.
Initially one purchase per child (£2), there will be an opportunity to purchase extra gifts if there are any left once all the children have visited the pop-up shop.
Please, if possible, send your child in to school with the correct amount of money on Friday 16th June or you can purchase via Parentpay before Thursday 15th June.
On Thursday some of our Young Carers visited Great Oaks residential home. They read their favourite books and played some games. It was lovely to see the engagement from our children and the residents.
Year 5 enjoyed an excellent music workshop on Thursday where they recorded their own field recording and Soundscape.
Congratulations to our 2nd winner, Elsie. We hope you enjoy the goodies over half term.
Y5 had a great time today at the Tutankhamen exhibition. They were able to show off their knowledge of Ancient Egyptians that they have been learning in school. We were all amazed seeing the mummies and ancient artefacts.
Year 4 had a brilliant day in Bournemouth yesterday as part of their Geography, comparing their local area.
Year 5 looked fantastic today with their Egyptian outfits! The children enjoyed tasting different foods at their Egyptian feast, along with code breaking hieroglyphic messages and creating their own sarcophaguses.
Year 6 enjoyed creating some great face paint designs for our Coronation celebrations last Friday
Wowzers! What a great time we had last night at our PSFA Coronation Discos! 🇬🇧🤴🇬🇧🤴 The wonderful Liam ( Outalimits discos) was awesome as always giving us party dances which went down a storm, fabulous foam, chaotic conga’s and just so much energy and fun! Thank you 🙌🤩🤩
Also a big thank you to the PSFA and staff that came along and gave up their time to help - as always you were superstars - joining in and making sure we all had a great time and that everyone was enjoying themselves 💫⭐️🌟
But my biggest applause goes to our super ‘Kinson Kids’ who just threw themselves into having a great time…. they just had so much fun, it filled my heart to see them so happy, and literally all of them joining in with the party dances, and showing us their awesome moves on the dance floor! You are all just wonderful and fill me with pride! 🕺🏼🥳🙌😎 (just a few pics and I’ll post more once I’ve checked photo permissions)🤩

Y6 were dissecting hearts yesterday to investigate their structure. They were able to identify key veins and arteries that link to the heart as well as the different chambers within the heart.
5AS have been on an 'archaeological dig'.
They had to dig for Ancient Egyptian artefacts which they will then use to write a report in English.
RKN had a visit from Harold the Giraffe and enjoyed taking part in different activities focusing on the topic All About Me.
