Spring has come to The Art Garden! As well as the blossoms outside, here is some more of our blossoming artists' amazing work. Quite the variety, we have watercolour woods, metallic flowers, fluorescent beasts and big trucks!

Here are some examples of what has been happening in The Art Garden in recent weeks from turtles underwater to hot chocolate! Our young artists have enjoyed experimenting with watercolour, pastel and clay and have achieved some fab results.

We don't want Christmas to be over as still enjoying the glow. This is the house that the Art Garden studio is tucked in behind. Our elves have produced some fantastic festive artwork here, snowmen, trees and gingerbread houses. We hope you've enjoyed a merry Christmas and are now looking forward to a happy New Year too.

Been a bit slack on the social media front lately, too old! But keen to show off some recent work by our wonderful young artists who have been getting up to some scary stuff, having fun with colour and getting lost in space.

Our older artists (most just 10 years) have been looking at the art of famous artists. Some fabulous finished examples here of clay pot cream cakes in the style of American artist, Wayne Thiebaud and work in progress of local scenes painted in the style of Van Gogh.

Taking bookings now at our small, friendly after school art club in Charminster, Bournemouth. Lessons in our next courses 'Colour and Shade' for our younger artists and 'Lost in Space' for our older artists as well as Christmas holiday workshops are now available.

Lessons are £12 per session or book a course of six lessons for the price of five!

Our half term Halloween children's art classes are available to book for Wednesday 27th October at The Art Garden, Bournemouth.

Morning workshop, 9.30am to 12pm. Spooky fun making Frankenstein's monster, scary critters and glow-in-the-dark eyeballs. £25 per child. Most suitable for children aged 5 to 7 but projects can be adapted for older children.

Afternoon workshop, 1.30pm to 5pm. Enter if you dare haunted house drawing, metallic skull collage and dancing skeletons. Evil experiments with light and dark and figure drawing. £35 per child Most suitable for ages 8 to 12 but projects can be adapted for younger children.

Both workshops include Halloween treats and snacks for the brave, "mWahahhaha, mUahahaha..."

Our older artists have been looking at the work of Symbolist painter, Gustav Klimt and his famous work 'The Tree of Life' to begin painting our own versions in his style.

Also have been looking at the art of American artist, Wayne Thiebaud, making clay cupcake pots that will look good enough to eat. Talking about cake, it was Eddie the dog's birthday so cupcakes all round!

Our first art clubs of September, the older ones painted watercolours in the style of Monet. Our younger artists fitted in some cheeky chalky pandas while they were waiting for the painted paper of their spotty dogs to dry! Looking forward to seeing those 😊
