SPORTS FIXTURE RESULT #86
Y11 BOYS FOOTBALL

Our Y11 Boys football team’s County cup run ended on Friday with a narrow 2-1 loss to Lytchett School.

Kaelan B had given LEAF the lead with a great individual effort however LEAF couldn’t hold on in the dying moments of the game as Lytchett found the winner to take them through.

Good luck to this team as they play Corfe Hills in the semi-final of the PEDDSA Cup a week Monday!

SPORTS FIXTURE RESULT #85
Y9 BOYS RUGBY

Our Y9 Boys headed to a wet and windy Yeovil Rugby Club on Thursday morning to represent Dorset in the Eric Blackman South West 10s tournament which hosted schools from across Dorset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.

LEAF started off brilliantly with a win against Courtfield School from Bristol, with Tommy O securing a first half hat trick and Rheon with a fantastic finish in the second half for a 4-1 win.

In their second game, LEAF turned on the style against Poltair from Cornwall with a resounding 6-1 win. Tries from Beau, Rheon and Tommy were sandwiched between a Hadley hattrick.

In their final game, as conditions continued to worsen, LEAF met their match against overall winners Hardenhuish from Gloucestershire, who turned on the style winning convincingly with a 5-0 score against the boys in red.

LEAF finished second in the group, however the organisers decided to stop the tournament due to the worsening conditions and the fact many schools had picked up injuries during the morning.

The LEAF boys did exceptionally well with particular mention to Eric, Will and Harry who all went above and beyond expectations with great tenacity in tackling, rucking and great lines and footwork when in possession!

Well done all, LEAF rugby at a regional stage for the first time! We are all hugely proud of this group!

SPORTS FIXTURE RESULT #84
Y10 FOOTBALL BOYS

Our Y10s competed in a local derby away against Glenmoor and Winton on Wednesday afternoon.

In a tight game, both teams exchanged chances with both sets of keepers making great saves with the best of the bunch coming from Jayden SL making himself big and closing down the angle on a difficult 1-on-1 situation. Neither team could break the deadlock by halftime!

LEAF went out in the second half and continued to play expansive football. Deservedly, LEAF took the lead with fantastic tenacity from Kuba W pressurising the defence into a mistake to then turn and half-volley the ball powerfully past the keeper from inside the box.

LEAF double their lead with neat work ahain down the left and an unselfish square ball from Kuba who set up Mason for a simple tap in.

Goal of the game came from a high intensity press from Ewan M who then quickly fed the ball to Freddie N who provided an inch perfect whipped cross to the back stick where Luca S expertly guided the ball on the volley into the bottom right hand corner. The whole team celebrated Luca’s first goal for LEAF, and what a way to do so!

LEAF finished off the game with a fourth goal whereby Mason claimed his second of the game with a curled corner straight into the top right stanchion!

A complete performance from the whole team with a debut to Spencer S slotting in at left back too! Performance of the day to Will M who was magnificent at both centre back and central midfield throughout the game!

Well done all!

SPORTS FIXTURE UPDATE #83
U15 GIRLS FOOTBALL

🔥🏆⚽️ ESFA SS NATIONAL CUP FINALISTS 2025-26 ⚽️🏆🔥

A huge congratulations to our U15 Girls footballers who booked their place in the National Cup final on Wednesday morning with a dominant performance against a competitive side in Litherland School.

The opposition had travelled down the night before from Liverpool and were fired up for the fixture, however the LEAF girls were up for the challenge!

The opening exchanges of the game went back and forth until Izzy G opened the scoring with a lovely turn outside the box and drive into the bottom corner. Litherland fought back with their equaliser almost immediately however LEAF continued to push and were rewarded with the lead as Savannah P hit a shot from distance which rebounded off post & keeper into the net.

LEAF went into another gear and following Alicia M winning ball back on the halfway, she slotted through Queenie B who drove forward and slotted the ball past the keeper to get her first of the game. Litherland again scored with a rocket of a shot past the diving LEAF keeper, however LEAF remained calm with good work on left from Savannah releasing Queenie, who rounded the keeper for her second of the game.

After half time, Izzy secured her second with a great individual run to score, shortly followed by Queenie securing her hattrick by intercepting a goal kick and rifling a screamer from distance to the top corner.

LEAF rounded off the game with Savannah P grabbing her second goal of the game with a great cross from Izzy G for a tap in at the back post. Litherland who did not give up all game got their third with an effective press that caused chaos in the LEAF defence!

However, this would not dampen the celebrations at the end as the girls can now look forward to an away day’s travel to the National Finals likely to be held in May!

Well done to all involved and we are all so so proud of your achievements!
