🦖Year 3 enjoyed an exciting and memorable trip to the Etches Collection. A highlight of the visit was seeing the incredible Pliosaur skull, famously featured in the BBC documentary Attenborough and The Giant Sea Monster. The children were thrilled to see such an enormous and fascinating fossil up close, sparking lots of curiosity and discussion.
🦕The day was packed with engaging activities. The class explored “Big Sara,” an impressive Allosaurus skeleton, which helped bring their learning about prehistoric life vividly to life. They also took part in an interesting lesson on “Rocks, Fossils and Mary Anning,” where they learned about the pioneering fossil hunter and her important discoveries.

🐠 EYFS had a fantastic visit to the Oceanarium as part of our Under the Sea topic. The trip brought their learning to life as they explored a wonderful variety of marine animals, including sharks, sea turtles, penguins, jellyfish and colourful tropical fish.
The children were fascinated by what they saw and enjoyed making connections between their classroom learning and the real-world ocean habitats around them. Seeing these incredible creatures up close sparked curiosity, encouraged questions and deepened their understanding of life beneath the waves.
❤💙 We were especially proud of our children throughout the visit. Their behaviour was exemplary, and we received several lovely comments from members of the public praising their impeccable manners and conduct. They were wonderful ambassadors for our school, and we couldn't be prouder of them!

💂♀ L4 pupils visited Hampton Court Palace as part of their History studies on the Tudor, Stuart, and Georgian times. We toured Henry VIII’s state apartments, explored the Tudor kitchens, ran around the maze, and visited the 'real tennis' courts which have been in use since 1625. Our L6 Historians also had a bespoke tour of the Tudor areas of the palace to complement their A Level studies on the later Tudor monarchs.
🙋♀️ There were many excellent questions, engaging conversations and even impromptu Tudor board games. Our favourite areas were the impressive Great Hall, the beautiful chapel and the stunning King's staircase. Despite the rain, we had a great day, and the pupils were a credit to the school.

💭 In this thoughtful guest blog, Vicky Mortell, our Leader of Teaching and Learning, offers a compelling insight into the transformative power of the Thrive approach and its role in supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing alongside their academic development.
Drawing on both research and her own experience in the classroom, Vicky highlights how nurturing strong relationships and understanding individual needs can unlock confidence, resilience and a genuine readiness to learn. Her reflections speak to our wider commitment at Talbot Heath to educating the whole child, ensuring that every pupil feels supported, valued and able to flourish.

☀️🌦️ Summer Fayre – Come Rain or Shine! Our Summer Fayre will be going ahead whatever the weather!
If the forecast isn’t on our side, we’ll simply move the fun indoors to the Senior School site and Senior Playground, so everyone can still enjoy a fantastic afternoon.
Unfortunately, if we need to switch to our wet weather plan, THrufts and the Dog Agility Course will not be able to take place. 🐕
We’ll be keeping a close eye on the forecast and will make a final decision on Friday morning, communicating any updates to families as soon as possible.
We’re looking forward to a wonderful day of fun, entertainment, shopping, food, and community spirit – and can’t wait to see you there 🤩 https://www.pta-events.co.uk/talbotheathpss/index.cfm
