Corner House Day Nursery - Bournemouth

What a wonderful morning pre-school had on a trip to the beach! The children were so excited to travel by bus, chatting happily and looking out of the windows on the way. Once off the bus, on the way down to the beach they had a snack, looked at the birds and Phoebe even fed a squirrel some snack!
At the beach, they enjoyed exploring and building in the sand, breathing in the fresh sea air, having a paddle in the sea and filling and emptying their buckets. We are so lucky to have the beach so close to the nursery, it was a lovely adventure full of smiles, laughter, and special memories.

☀️ Sun Awareness Week ☀️ We have been learning all about staying safe in the sun. The children have been talking about why sun safety is important, how to wear sun hats, drink plenty of water and stay in the shade, as well as learning how to put sun cream on carefully.
As the sun has finally decided to make an appearance please remember to send your child in with a named sun hat and ensure sun cream is applied before nursery each morning. Thank you for your support!

Today in nursery we’re celebrating a truly special birthday: Sir David Attenborough turns 100. 🤩🎉
The pre-school children watched some of his amazing work on the large screen and looked at the different creatures we could find in our garden. We taught the children that for decades Sir David has helped people of all ages notice the wonder in the world around us. From tiny minibeasts and rainforest plants to oceans, ice caps and endangered animals. His calm storytelling reminds us to be curious, to look closely, and to care for the planet we all share, and that this will one day be the responsibility of our children.

We are delighted to announce that our nursery is celebrating its 20th anniversary. It’s been a wonderful journey filled with laughter, learning, and countless memories shared with our families and staff. A special congratulations goes to our deputy manager, Lisa who has been with us since the very beginning. Your dedication and passion have shaped our nursery into the caring and vibrant place it is today. Thank you for everything you do!

We’ve been making the most of the warmer weather with a very exciting adventure — a fun bus trip to the beach! The children loved watching the world go by on the journey, then enjoyed the fresh sea air, sandy toes and lots of smiles by the shore. We also tucked into a lovely picnic tea together, which was the perfect way to round off our day. What a lovely way to celebrate springtime together!

Sunshine, smiles and splashes of colour! The children had a wonderful time enjoying the lovely weather, being creative with face paints and celebrating Red Nose day !

Today we had an absolute blast getting messy with coloured shaving foam! The children loved squishing, swirling, and creating vibrant masterpieces—there were giggles all round and plenty of rainbow hands to show for it. It’s such a simple activity but brilliant for sensory play, plus it’s easy to clean up afterwards. Highly recommend giving it a go if you’re after some colourful, creative fun at home!

Pancake Day was a flipping good time! The children got stuck into the fun by role-playing as master chefs, practising their pancake tossing skills, and of course, tucking into their delicious creations. There were plenty of giggles, a few pancake flops, and lots of happy faces once it was time to eat – definitely the best part!
