Huge congratulations to the Class of 2026!

Highcliffe students have achieved outstanding GCSE results across the whole curriculum, with strong performances in English and Maths, an improved Attainment 8 score and exceptional success across a wide range of subjects.

Over 50% achieved Grades 9-7 in Religious Philosophy
Over 40% achieved Grades 9-7 in Chemistry and Fine Art
Almost half of students secured Grade 5+ in both English and Maths

A fantastic year for DofE!

From Bronze and Silver expeditions in the New Forest and Purbecks to a challenging Gold expedition on Dartmoor, our students have shown resilience, teamwork and determination throughout 2026.

An incredible 98 Bronze and Silver Awards have already been presented, with 2 Gold Awards potentially to follow at Buckingham Palace. Congratulations to all our participants, staff and families for their support in making this such a successful year!

A little throwback to the start of July and our Year 11 Leavers' Assembly.
There were some brilliantly decorated shirts on display, with everything from Pokémon and superheroes to designer-inspired artwork. We also enjoyed a lovely compilation of messages from staff, along with a student-made video featuring students and staff signing their names on glass, set to Forever Young.
A great way to celebrate the end of five years.

Changes to Free School Meals from September 2026
From September 2026, the eligibility criteria for Free School Meals (FSM) are changing, meaning more families may now qualify for support.
All families receiving Universal Credit may be eligible to apply, with two categories available:

Targeted Free School Meals
For families receiving Universal Credit with annual earnings of £7,400 or less.

Expanded Free School Meals
For families receiving Universal Credit with annual earnings above £7,400.

We encourage all eligible families to check their entitlement and submit an application, as Free School Meals can provide valuable support throughout your child's time at school.

Please note: even if your child is currently receiving Free School Meals, you will still need to submit a new application under the revised eligibility criteria. If you do not reapply, your child will not receive Free School Meals from September 2026.

Reminder for Year 7, 8 & 9 Students
Students in Years 7, 8 and 9 who are in school on Monday are reminded to bring some cash with them if they would like to take part in activities or purchase items available during the day.

Last week’s Summer Concert 2026 was a fantastic celebration of another outstanding year of music at Highcliffe School.
Despite the heat, students delivered an evening of exceptional performances, showcasing the talent and dedication of our choir, ensembles, bands, soloists and student-led groups.
A huge thank you to our music staff, technicians, families and supporters. Most importantly, congratulations to all the students whose enthusiasm, teamwork and musicianship made the concert such a memorable end to the academic year.
