Did you know? Reading for pleasure can make a difference to exam success.
Students who read regularly develop stronger vocabulary, better comprehension and sharper thinking skills that support every subject.
Just a few minutes each day can build confidence, improve focus and help ideas stick when it matters most.
So whether it’s fiction, non-fiction or anything in between - make time to read. Your future results will thank you.

World Hunger Day: Collection for Christchurch Foodbank+
After half term, Student Leadership will be running our annual collection of supplies for Christchurch Foodbank+. The collection will be from Monday 1st - Friday 13th June.
Each tutor group will be given a bag for their collection along with a list of items, so students can choose what they are going to bring in and help us create a wide variety of donations. (Of course, additional contributions are always welcome!)

Why this matters:
Around the world, 1 in 12 people go to bed hungry every night, even though there is enough food for everyone.
Hunger isn’t just about food - it’s about uncertainty, families making impossible choices and children not knowing where their next meal will come from.
World Hunger Day reminds us that “hunger is not inevitable - it is something we have the power to change together.”

Every item donated can make a real difference locally - helping individuals and families in our own community feel supported, secure, and cared for.
Thank you for your generosity and support.

We were delighted to by be joined by Hi-Impact and Altru Drama, in collaboration with BAE Systems, the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy, who delivered the STEM Roadshow to our Year 8 students on Friday 24th of April 2026. This was an in-school STEM theatre experience inspiring students into science and engineering. It was a fantastic opportunity for our Year 8s to connect classroom learning with real-world applications, helping them see why STEM subjects matter. Students were able to discover how everyday materials drive cutting-edge technology, see STEM in action across engineering, manufacturing, technology and aerospace, understand how creativity and problem-solving fuel innovation and be inspired by real career pathways in a really engaging and fun way. The feedback we had from staff and students was brilliant.
